vu CLASS PROPHECY You know, Hollywood is a pretty big city-I'm sure most of you have already been there. Well, I live there. I'm a secretary to one of Hollywood's most famous producers. It's funny how small this world really is, because one day who should walk in but jo Ann Long . . . Joey, what in the world are you doing here, and where have you been keeping yourself? Gosh, Olga, I've been with the Metropolian Opera for the past three years, and right now I've come to see your boss with the hopes of getting into T. V. By the way, what is his name? They just told me that if I really wanted to succeed in T. V. to come see Mr. Two to One. Well, joey, You've come to the right place, his name is Richard Humes. Olga, no! I thought I'd never see him again after he joined the Army. Oh, Olga! Do I look all right? Is he in now? Do you think he'll see me? Sure, Joey, go on in, he's in the first office marked 'Private'. Hmmmmmmmm. . . 12 o'clock, time to go to lunch . . . I walked into a restaurant, ordered lunch, and sat waiting, when someone slapped me hard on my back. I turned around, and Francisca Pena and Lupita Garza stood there . . . I looked both of them over and was startled. They were beautifully dressed, and they each were holding two lovely hat boxes. Yes, you're' right, they are two of Hollywood's paid models. Francis models for Len Hash 8: No Cheate and Lupita for Turn Oversf They sat down and we had an enthusiastic talk about good old days in M. H. S. By the time we got through having lunch, the clock had rolled around to 1:00 o'clock, and it was time to go to work. We promised to meet again at my apartment Saturday evening, and then off to work we went. It had been a tough day today, and now my watch said it was time for me to go home, so I closed up the office and stood on the street corner waiting for a cab. Finally, I saw one swerving around the curve. It came to a sudden stop with a horrible screeching of brakes. I got in and gave him my address . . .Zoom!! we were off. At last the nightmare ride with the nutty cab driver was over. . . now to pay him . . . 31.20 please, ma'am. I handed him the money, and then I noticed it was Natalio Lopez. Natalio! Geee whiz! How did you become such a crazy cab-driverll didn't know you were here in Hollywood. Oh, you know how I used to drive my old truck back home. Remember the day I nearly ran over Mr. Townsend. Gosh, those were the good old days . . . Well, I've got to go now, I have a call at 7001 Boulevard . . .So long . . .Nice seeing you. In my room at last I turned on the radio to listen to the sports news. The announcer was saying, And now, we bring you Howard Duckworth and the world of sports. Howard Duckworth! Well, I'll be doggoned. I-Ie's a sports commentator, Ha . . . I always thought he was a loud mouth. Well, I guess Iill listen to something good by Harvey Tames. There seemed to be a lot of static on the radio, so I turned it off. Later on that night I turned it on again. There was a wonderful western band on the air, so I tuned in. Now for all of those with T. V. sets, we'd like to present to you Mr. Delano Lamar Montgomery, the sensational hillybilly singer of the 20th Century. Aha! Aha! I knew it. I knew once he joined Adolf Hoffner he would go for higher stakes, and he sure did. Well-he does have a nice voice. Saturday morning: The girls are due around 6:00 this evening. Guess I'd better straighten things up a bit. Oh, well, before I do that I'll read the morning paper. Melvin Dickens and Gerald Black, richest oilmen in South Texas, will marry Bana Turner and Bretty Drable on june 17, 1956. This will be of great interest to the many friends of the grooms including Mr. Barry Bruman who will be best man at both weddings Ceven though he knows nothing about it yet.j

Well, what do you know about that? Old Mel and Dippy are going to marry two of those high-class movie stars. No wonder Melvin said he wouldn't marry Glenna until he knew he could make her happy . . . And Gerald said he wouldn't marry Mary Lou until he was sure . . . It always did sound fishy to me, anyway. Oh well, guess that's life. Around 7:00 that evening there was a knock on the door and in walked Lupita and Francis, all decked out in evening gowns. Hello, Darlin'. We thought you'd like to go to that new ritzie club they're opening tonight and so we dressed for it. We should have called you . . . but . . . Oh that's alright girls, of course I want to go. We got to the nite club they were talking about called the Copa Cabana Drink or Leave. Gosh, what a crazy name for such a beautiful place. Wonder who the owner of this thing is? It surely didn't take long to find out, after we went inside . . . but it almost caused me to have heart failure . . .Agustin de la Cruz.and Onesimo Esquivel! Not only did they have a beautiful nite club . . . but also a gambling casino downstairs. Good gravey, Agustin and Onesimo, how did you do it? Believe us, they said with a sly grin, It wasn't easy, but we made it. Gee, but it's good to see you again. You will stay for the floor show, we hope. Oh yes, of course we will. Around 9:00 o'clock a cresendo of drums announced the first number, and the lights went out. The huge spotlights played itself across the floor, and out came a gorgeous girl dressed in a beautiful costume . . . She started singing with the most beautiful voice I'd ever heard. She really was a knock out. Finally they announced her name . . . Angelita Martinez . . . Holy mackerel another one of my classmates, and what a nite club singer she's made!! Well Francis and Lupita, guess we'd better run along now. So long, Agustin and Onesimo, it's been swell seeing you again . . .Our regards to Angelitaf' Yep, just as I said in the beginning, quite a small World, isn't it? 5
