The Senior Class can be compared to trail blazers ir true character of our Western civilization. As the pionee century ago, came west to build a new life, and thus dc set the standards of culture, ideals, and great hope for fi generations, so may we boast, has our Senior Class dom Miramonte. While we cannot say that the Senior Class found it ne sary to fight Indians nor to shoot buffalo for their livelih there were many hardships that came with being the firstf In a new school. At that time, there was no school traditic spirit. lt was up to the first class to develop a certain amou school pride. They had no organized clubs to ioin and it also hard to show enthusiasm for a small freshman foo team. However, this enterprizing class showed determine to gain for Miramonte, the fine reputation which we now bi In a sense, the seemingly unsurmountable problems ol ing the first class, have been of inestimable value to each every one of our Seniors. They have developed character dividuality, leadership and courage to meet the future. S niors of Miramonte High School, We, the future e ll d I! Luck to you. X . ,.,. -. ,... .. . , ,, . . , . l ,. W? .wp :fb Y SEINUQER MPEEBEATTUWES One of the highest honors that can be bestowed on a Senior by his fellow class members is that of being a Superlative. The Senior Class voted for those they believed best fulfilled the desired qualifications. Since these honored few represent the entire Senior Class, the task of selecting is ditticult. We, the Mirada staff, believe the Super- latives chosen for 1959 have shown outstanding leadership, enough to make us all proud of our Senior Class. MR. I MISS MIRAMONTE Floyd Blaney and Judy Bartlett were chosen on the basis of participation in school activities, dependability, personal ap- pearance, popularity, and school spirit. SCHOLASTIC ABILITY An alert mind and willingness to apply themselves were the two main factors in the selections of Doug Federighi and Babette Ambler. BEST PERSONALITY Tim Maloney and Sheryl Stud- Iey's cheery smiles and happy dispositions have made our days brighter. Everyone knows and likes them. MOST ATHLETIC Dixon Farmer and Jackie Conda's bound- less energy and versatility in sports has added greatly to our teams' spirit and per- formance MOST ATTRACTIVE Because of their neat appearance and attractive looks, Bill Klement and Linda Benson always look as if they had iust stepped out of a fashion magazine. ELNUQGR IZEXUJL The corsoge and the bid, are truly memoirs ofa wonderful night. The Senior Ball will always hold a special place in the memory of all seniors. The girl will always remember the beautiful dress she wore, the lovely corsage her dcte sent her and dancing to the music of Merle Peterson's Band. The boy will always remember the trouble he had getting the family car, his bill-fold, which was empty the next morning, and his sore feet. All things considered, the Senior Ball was a terrific climax to a wonderful year. -'kL ' 3 1' ' 3 1,lfii.'ii'aZ9 ,jsf fu- L Q ' , .15 - 51, w - ' ti1,:i,ii:,j4s A 'T - - W W . We, the first graduating class of Miramonte, feel honored to have had the opportunity of playing the maior roll in the development of our new school. After four years of hard work and lots of fun, we have reached the peak of our high school dreams. Let us turn back the hands of time and think of the day we en- tered as freshmen. This was different from anything we had ever experienced, and we found we were on our own. Our Sophomore year was quite a bit different and one of our best loved. ln the fall of our second year, Gary Lucas and Judy Roberts were chosen King and Queen of our annual football dance. Glamour and enthusiasm filled the air in the fall of our Junior year. This year was started with a bang. Class officers were elected first. Mike Wilmar, Presidentp Pat Butler, Vice-President7 Roxie Huntley, Secretary7 and Pam Schmidt, Treasurer, were our capable leaders. One of the most exciting festivities of the year was the Junior Prom. The dance was a result of much hard work and a booming success. The fall of 1958 was both happy and sad, for we were deserving Seniors. As the first class of Miramonte, we have been, in a sense, Sen.iors from the beginning of our Freshman year. Yet, this year has been one of the best in our lives. We worked hard and loved every moment of it. Senior Class officers were elected. They were, Bicky Clif- ford, President7 Roxie Huntley, Vice-President7 Louise Cianclarulo, Secretary: and Donna Lane, Treasurer. The constant buzzing of the Mirada staff filled our days with fun. Our Senior pictures were made and graduation invitations were ordered. Graduation was planned and all attended the Senior Ball. This time, we were on the receiving end. Oh, how nice it seemed! We look upon our four years at Miramonte as the years in which we have grown. into full maturity. Now that we are about to embark upon new adventure, we realize the responsibilities that we will accept as the first graduating class of Miramonte High School. We, the Senior Class say, Thank you, Miramonte, for life long friendships and never the be forgotten memories. A, 3 ES if W 4, 2,135 x , U., 'MMM by Wg ww fp. 1 :Ei Efyfi ' W SJ ,rf 1 'Q' 95-6 i Qi? Throughout the year, they had the guid- ance and friendship of their advisors, Miss Van Dam and Mr. Campbell. With the excitement of being upper classmen, the Juniors took a very active part in many school activities. The entire class may take a well deserved bow for the fine production of the Junior Prom. They worked hard on cake sales and car washes to raise money for the dance. Everyone doing his share and enioying every minute of it. The Junior Class had a last fling before taking the responsibilities of being Seniors. But each is looking forward to next year with eager anticipation.
