In an era when everyone seems to be talking about communication. . . and talking, and talking, the foreign studies ' department is working to provide students with the real basis for communication: Language With the knowledge gained in a French, German, or Spanish course, a student is on the road to under- standing the culture,lnstory,lnerature of any coun- try, to capture the minds of a people. With an eye to this goal, Mrs. Maier's advanced French classes arranged a trip to France last summer and the possibility of more to come. Pol nomials and avogadro s theor In the beginning all things are challenging and exciting. It is the responsibility of the staff and students together to see that we maintain our en- thusiasm for what we have start- ed here at Miraleste High School. For the students this means ap- proaching feach new mode of instruction with an open mind and inquiring attitude. For the staff it means the seeking of fresh approaches to subject matter, the maintenance of personal interest in the subject, and the continuing of a tradi- tion of accessability to students.
