In an era when everyone seems to be talking about communication. . . and talking, and talking, the foreign studies ' department is working to provide students with the real basis for communication: Language With the knowledge gained in a French, German, or Spanish course, a student is on the road to under- standing the culture,lnstory,lnerature of any coun- try, to capture the minds of a people. With an eye to this goal, Mrs. Maier's advanced French classes arranged a trip to France last summer and the possibility of more to come. Who knowsf next year the Spanish classes may even make it down for a visit to Madrid. Patricia Maier Faculty
