Richard Fox was one ofthe best varsity runners this year. The Miraleste Cross Country Harriers came through again this year as thev once more took league and advanced into CIF. This is the fourth consecutive time the runners progressed this far and the third time the Harriers took first in Pio- neer League. Leading the Marauder pack was Jay Hummel, and Richard Fox, Jamie Christopher, Joe Nebo- lon, and Glen Wetzel followed right behind him. With these runners, Miraleste won all of their league meets. Next year Coach Henkel expects another cham- pionship but earning this title will be harder since Miraleste will be going into another league which contains larger schools than Miraleste. Our best runner though, .lay Hummel, will be coming back, as well as Glen Wetzel and these two will form the nucleus ofthe team. Hummel and Wet- zel, along with other excellent runners coming up from junior varsity, will give Coach Henkel hope for another league championship and a crack at being CIF champions. Varsity Cross Country Row I: Greg Plakos, Jamie Christopher Row 2: Joe Nebolon, Jay Hummel, Greg Hummel, Richard Fox, Glen Wetzel. 176
