an Diego was greatly honored to be a part of a long-standing, all- American tradition. America's Finest City hosted Super Bowl 22, between the Denver Broncos and the Washington Redskins. Although it was quite a gamble to take on such a colossal project, our city accomplished the feat with a panache all its own. Many fortunate MMHS students participated in all the hoopla. Those who survived the nerve-wracking December try- outs followed a rigorous practice schedule for the upcoming January performance. The pre-game showcase focused on the career of megaster Bob Hope. The costumed participants carried balloon arches onto the field, executed entertaining dances and intricate formations, and played character roles. The theme of the half-time production was Something Grand, and indeed it was! The cast strut their stuff to Chubby Checker's rousing rendition of his nostalgic hit single Let's Do the Twist. The renowned Rockettes added a stylish touch. The memories made by all the performers would surely be treasured for a lifetime.. 1 . JUYBYI Ddfhllfl GHG ll'9l i9 Borromeo TCIKS 2.
