Waves of excitement burst out in frenzied motions of activities as lVlarau- ders showed their spirit and pride for lVllVll-lS sports by attending pep rallies. Cheer, drill, flag team. letterettes and the band helped boost lVlaraudermania. Pep rallies were the icing on the cake of spirit because it let charges of excitement explode giving everyone the chance to show their pride and spirit. Everyone left charged up for the big game. ready to cheer and root their lVlarauder team! 1. Sandi Chong announces the class winnerof the penny collection activity. 2. The spirited bunch of Kim Flikansrud, Laura Horn, and Donna Mattson definitely show that three is not a crowd. 3. Raise your hand if you're sure! Being a drill team member is no sweat. 4. Was this actually the famous group INXS, come to play to hordes of screaming lVlarauders'? And did the rowdy Beastie Boys, and the smash band of the 7O's--The Village People--truly perform at IVIIVIHS? No--not really. This vvas not a vvave of superstar musical groups descending on lVllVlHS, but another exciting All3lBAND COlVlPETlTlOlXl. lead Students turned out in record numbers this year both to perform in airbands as vvell as to vvatch making the event a smashing success For over a vveek lVlarauders were treated to several airbands each lunch period, bands that vvere judged by ASB members from other schools. Nine winners vvere chosen to advance to the finals. The semi-finalists turned out to be Leslie Gore, the Beastie Boys, the B-52's, Janet Jackson, The The Four Tops and The Go-Go's.
