And Now A Word From 0ur Sponsor Students satisfied their sweet tooth with lunchtime student store purchases. Also, provided oy the store were school supplies and Marauder momentosforthose seekinganoteoook for next period or olue and gold nostalgia. Students who worked in the store earned an elective credit toward graduation. It's tough being a star but someone has to do it. -Doug Kemp With Advisor Bill Male, and President Doug Kemp leading the Mira Mesa Update Crew, broadcasts met with appreciative audiences. Eight students composed the crew, meeting after school on TuesdayS for update planning. Sports and club coverage, messages from the principal, and student happenings, were brought to the screen once a month in english and history classes, relieving students from their normal work schedule and' allowing teachers to get more vvork done.

Marching On... An invitation to perform at the Reagan Republican campaign parade, headed the list of the Mira Mesa Marching Band competitions which took place at Mount Carmel, Mission Viejo, as well as the Columbus Day Parade. The band prepped for these performances during first period and with much marching around the parking lot after school. Our goal is to improve Mira Mesa's competition status. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Marching to the beat of the band were the Letterettes, also under the direction of Mr. Len Wolfe. Identified by new uniforms which were proudly worn at home games, the Letterettesjoi ned the band in early morning practices of drills and marching. A third accompanist to the spirit rousers was the Pep Band playing at football and basketball games. Armed with instruments, the Pep Band transferred their spirit into the stands while exciting crowds at home and at away games. The Pep Band consists of, row 1: S. Rasgaitis, C. Gurq, V. Ferma, R.
