Mr. Rob Hollingsworth joined the department as the new auto shop teacher. Mr. Walt Kick Chairman Mathematics - Mr. Comer Knowles Mrs. Pauline Delander Mr. Dick Melamed Mr. Dean Shaver The Math Department offered a two year algebra course this year. The first year is pre-algebra and the second year is at the Algebra I level. The department was very pleased with the results of this course. Mira Loma math students took part in the annual Cal Poly trip. Itis a two day visita- tion each spring for students and parents. Our students participated in a chalk talk and a three member senior team contest. 155 Faculty

Foreign Languages The Foreign Language Department plays an im- portant part in Mira Loma students' education. Span- Miss Barbara Brown ish, French, and German Mr. Dick Westrup Chairman give a student a variety of classes from which to choose. Miss Barbara Brown has done an excel- lent job of keeping this de- partment in top shape. We are happy to see Mr. Bill Gold back in the classroom after a year of sabbatical leave in Spain. W - ,ti it A Mr. Bill Gold Mrs. Carolyn Suter Home Economics This department offers a large number of food and clothing classes, and some special classes of personal psychology. Depart- ment is considered one ofthe best in California. It is headed by Mr. Bill Freeman, the varsity basket- ball coach. Mr. Don Brown and Mr. Gerry Kunderti are the football coaches. Mr. Lee Grichuhin coach- es baseball, and Mr. Bob King is the track coach. The Girl's P.E. had some new units included in the program such as backpacking, yoga, and aerobics.
