Miss Virginia Owen Mrs Joyce Hayward Miss Edith Colt The English Department continues to provide instruction in the basic skills and the allied goals and objectives inherent in litera- ture, composition, and language with varia- tions in presentations to motivate and in- terest the classes. Miss Edith Colt joined the staff to replace Joyce Fuller, who took a year of sabbatical leave to continue her work at Sacramento State University. In addition to the full class loads, the teachers com- pleted requirements for the accreditation program, new evaluation program, wrote department and individual goals and ob- jectives, and adjusted procedures for depart- mental teacher involvement. Mr. John Barber is the chairman of our English Department and he teaches senior English. His method of teaching grammar and literature has been highly recommended by his students, past and present, to future seniors. He is, no doubt, one of the finest teachers Mira Loma has ever had.
