In a lighter moment . . . Guiding our way Through another successful year at Mira Costa is our dedicated administration. Heading the group is our principal, Mr. Lloyd Waller, who has held this office since the opening of our school in l95O. As- sisting Mr. Waller are Mr. Carl Fisher, Boys' Vice Princi- pal who joined us in 1951 as math instructor, coach, and Attendance Ofticer, and Mrs. Catherine McVey, who has served the school since l95O, also. Helping the students select their course of studies are our counselors under the direction of Miss Millie Thomas. They are Miss Aletha Brown, Sophomores, Mr. Andrew Mclntyre, Juniors, Mr. James Mills, Juniors and Miss Joan Risse, Seniors. Their work is very much appreciated by the Student Body. Lloyd Waller, MC principal turns to the stream for out of school relaxation. Mrs Catherine McVey, Girls' vice-principal, has found warmth and pleasure in her growing art collection. Family man through and through is Mr. Carl Fisher, Mi- cohi Assistant Principal. He grin- ningly confides Only 4Ol steps from our home to the beach! The year round tans of the Fisher Family support this statement. Though these be only ceramic, Miss Millie Thomas, head coun- selor, gains enioyment in caring for her many cats. Hand-built and nearing completion, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Cameron are seen adding final touches to their home-to- be. South Bay Administration Under the capable direction of Dr. VV. Earl Brown, Superin- tendent, the South Bay School Board met the first and third Wednesday of every month. These meetings were attended by Mr. Robert Trimble, Clerk, Judge Clifford Higgins, Vice Presi- dent, Dr. John Cooper, President, Mrs. Dorothy Battersby, Mr. Adrian Bibee. Assisting in the duties of superintendent are Mr. Raymond Jones and Mr. A. L. Young. Working together, the Board handles problems concerning school policies, finances, construction and other important is- sues. They also help in the selection of the faculty each year.
