Class Prophecy The year was 1968 Our class of 1957 was gathered at our frrst reuruon each eagerly awartrng wrth antrcrpatron to learn of the accomplrshments of hrs fellow class mates Roll call was taken by Darold Galbrarth our class presrdent and we learned that one member Vernon Peters was gone Fortunately he was only upon hrs honeymoon wrth hrs lovely brrde Mary Ann We learned of thrs from Rrchard Keebaugh hrs very close frrend who rs now the honorable deputy sherrff of the thrrvrng metropolrs of Red Oak. Darold rnformed us that he and Drck Gordon are rn charge of the atomrc drvrsron of the F1vash Screntrfrc Corporatron Mr Frvash no longer teaches school because Drck and Darold rnvented an atomrc thrnker whrch elrmrnated schools and teachers As we sat down to our banquet whrch consisted largely of mashed potatoes venrson and some sort of salad Reverend Wrllram Randall sard grace A very delrcrous wrne was supplred by B111 Evans Bill never got very far from Mro but he had developed a few arts He also supplred the vemson We notrced that lrene and Larry were strll srttrng together and when Irene shyly rntormed us that they had eloped frve years ago we drank a toast to therr future suc cess wrth Brll s delrcrous wrne After the hearty meal we were entertarned by Mr and Mrs Houlton Jrm and Sondra showed many beautrful slrdes whrch they had taken whrle on therr trrp to Europe They sarled rn a lrttle crurser whrch Jrm brult by hrmself John Stark added to the entertarrunent wrth a few trrcks wrth hrs lasso John rs a bachelor on hrs huge ranch rn Texas As for women John has hrs own motto Love em and leave em Joe Breaugh told us of hrs lnterestlng lrfe as a prrvate detectrve He rs now workrng on a case whrch rnvolves Sue Marshall, Sue somehow got herself seven husbands There rs never a dull moment for the former Joyce Ramsey as srx chrldren keep her pretty busy Although the fun was Just begrnnrng Dorothy had to leave She drdn t want to mrss seerng her husband Karl Newrngham s basketball team play rn the state frnals Arnrdst all the hurry and excrtement we caught Narda sittrng rn a corner sketchrng the rest of us for a prrze rllustratrorr for her magazrne the Mad Artrst The reunron for Drck Pate meant more than Just seerng hrs frrends agarn rt meant busrness, He trred hrs best to sell each of us a Pate Lucas Insurance Polrcy especrally needed he sard after eatrng what we had at the banquet As we parted to go our ways we were greeted by our class sponsor Mrs Booth whrch gave an added touch to make our reunron a pleasrng success 9 I .
