Here we see algebra students Dave Peterson, Dan Friant, and Kathy Bols graphing an equation. Let's walk across the hall and visit our new addition at M.C.H.S. This is where the industrial arts classes meet. Wally Kundert adds the finishing touches to a coffee table as Mr. Agney and the second period class watch. Asking Mr. McLaughlin to explain a general math problem are Mitch Ed- wards, Tina Johnson, and Dave Brown. Our newest department, industrial arts, offered a technical drawing course dur- ing the second semester. Bev Mariano- vich and Ron Williamson seem very intent on their work. Mr. Baker is shown dictating a letter to the shorthand class to increase their writing speed. 48 The typing room is next on our tour. Office practice class includes an inten- sive unit on filing. Sigrunn H., Judy B., Mary C., Sharon A., and Linda L. compare notes on their filing practice sets. Now let's walk up to the second 'Floor of the old building and look in on some classes. Mr. Miller is shown with one of the two social problems classes. This is a required course 'for all seniors. US history IS a required course for all iuniors. Included in the course IS a weekly discussion of current events for which all students subscribe to the American Observer. Sociology and economics are each one- semester courses ln economics the stu- dents study a unit on stocks David Lyons shows Barb Agnuch the common stock he I 1' -' Evidently the panel discussion pre- sented by Gerald Hauge, Leerae Stroud, Leeane Wilhelmi, and Jim Clen- non in their freshman English class is very funny. As we come back to the main build- ing, our first stop will be in a iunior English class. Jerry McCowan presents a book report to his fellow classmates and Mrs. McLaughlin. 5ee no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. One of the many units studied in the speech class was play cuttings. 53 Cheryl Ashmore discusses a bulletin board display with fellow sophomore English students Frank Campbell and Allen Pehlke. English and German classes meet in the last room on our tour. Senior English students Rex Siron, Tom Geist- ler, and Kay Moore are shown work- ing on their term papers in the library. German was offered for the 'first time this year. Miss Casten listens as mem- bers of the class read from their books. SENIORS SEATED: J. Vaksdal, P. Brooks, F. Campbell, D. Clark, K. Moore, S.
