P 0,4 Charlrer III lwould enjoy rt very much Very well sard Grandfather I 'wb' auf I wrll start wrth my hrgh school days My best frrend was Ronald Lehman Ron as he was more commonly called became a successful coach at Mononk Dana Hrgh School fromwhrch we both graduated rn 52 Several years later ltook a trrp to Calrfornra to see my frrend Glenn Andrews He was now an orchestra leader wrth Marranne McGough as hrs vocalrst Whrle there I took rll and Glenn gave me the address of hrs doctor It was Bob Hoke who was practrcrng rn Los Angeles Bob called one of hrs nurses rn and I recognrzed her as Pat Marshall Bob s other nurse was out on a prrvate Job She was Joyce Koch another classmate of mrne He sard they were both very good nurses I met Johnny Trmmerman who at that trme had started a strrng of gas olrne statrons He now rs lrvrng rn retrrement at hrs Sweney estate rn Illrnors For a long trme I never heard about anymore of my classmates Then I decrded to take a tour of the world and see rfI couldn t frnd out what had happened to some of the old classmates On the trarn that was takrng me to New York I happened to run rnto Barbara Morrrson We went back to her compartment and she told me what had happened to some of the class Barb was now a specral educatron teacher and she sard that Evelyn Rrch was a musrc teacher at Normal Unrversrty They had just secured teachrng posrtrons rn Ger many Barb sard that Duane Hartzler and Drck Davrs had gone rnto the newspaper busrrress together and were makrng plenty of money Brll Spencer owned a televrsron program He had Alrce Rooker and Mernre Tjaden starred on hrs show They were a srngrng and dancrng team and were really popular Pat Curley owns a specral school rn whrch she trams future cheerleaders Pat should know as she was a cheerleader two years rn grade school and all durrng hrgh school JoAnne Eden had been a model but now owned her own store on Fifth Avenue rn New York Barb sard that she had not heard anymore from the rest of the class but I was glad to know thrs much for rt helped me a great deal Is the story gettrng too borrng for you son? Well there were some that got un excused abscences for skrpprng school One of them even became a truant offrcer He was Jerry Werstart who was also ourclass presrdent So be sure you never try to skrp school Drck O Brren had become the world s greatest crrve rnvestrgator and had Just solved the bakery scandal of who made the holeless donuts Well to contrnue my story, I boarded my shrp for Europe I soon went down for a swrm and found the lrfe guard to be Fred Baker Fred and I decrded to have drnner together that evenrng Carole Ekstrom was now edrtor of the Ekstrom Journal a monthly magazrne Carole made a good edrtor srnce she was edrtor of the annual rn our hrgh school days Fred also told me that two of the grrls had gotten marrred shortly after school was out Yes they were Edna Uanssenl Redenrus and Pat fDurbrnl Durre Grandpa are they any relatron to Betty Redenrus and Jerry Durre? They are granddaughter and grandsons of Edna and Pat A few days later I arrrved rn Europe and we docked at London England I took a couch to a tea shop rn London and there I saw Dodre Antle As we sat down to talk she told me that she had recerved a letter from Bob Rrley who was a famous lawyer rn New York He told her about a few of our classmates Rrchard Cremer owned a large depart ment store rn Chrcago You can see our class was pretty well spread out over the world We sure have a swell class Joyce Robertson Rrta Burchrress were well known for therr harr styles and they rnfluenced many of the women of the world The harr style they are workrng on now rs lavender blue Don Manley owned a race track at Lrncoln Illrnors He seemed to lrke fast drrvrng, so he decrded to open a race track After Dodre and I had parted company I journeyed on my way takrng rn many of the srghts rn Europe When I departed from Europe I took the plane back to the U S They were slower rn those days than they are now though I found that Margy Smrth was the stewardess on the plane She told me that the prlot was Frank Schnerder Whrle the co prlot took over the controls Frank came back to talk to me for a few mrnutes and to assure me that lwr uld reach the U S rn one prece Margy told me that Dorothy Matter was also a stewardess wrth the same arr lrnes Russel Lrndley owned hrs own farm and was really makrng the money He had just frnrshed rnvenrrng a robot that would do all hrs work for hrm As I walked rnto the wartrng room of La Guardra Freld to check my baggage I drscovered Dottre Budrrd was rn charge of the travelmg agency Gee Grandpa was Grandma rn your class too?
