BAND The Minonk Hxgh School Band, Under the direction OL Mr Duda, consist f about LO memaers The offi ers or the school year of l9u2 L3 are as ollo s Dale Johnson, president Peter hazzinie, vice p csid nt and Nellie Jones secretary treasurer In the summer of 1952 the M C H S band played for six concerts which were given in the p rk id a the time, t band was under the leadership of N J nsox the Iormer music instructor gram given in the gym and played for most of the basket ball games this year On March l, l9l+3, the band held a banquet at the Wood ford Hotel with Peter Mazzini acting as toastmaster A dance was given for members and alumni in the High School gym afterwards Last month Mr Duda put all of the grade school students in the band to gain experience playing and also to add to the band DANCE BAND The Minonk High School Dance Band was started about the first of November It is composed of three trumpet pla ers, Jack Meils Peter N8ZZlnl , and Herky Paloumpis The o her brass in the orchestra consists of one trombone, which is played by Lovell Forney The reeds consist of three saxa phones, played by Dale Johns0n , Pat Gregorich, and Dean Stalter A thr e piece rhythm section is composed of Joan Rowe, piano Francis Manley, b ass horn, and Danny Cholsser drums In addition Mildred Ann Phillips plays the accordlan The orchestra was started by kr Duda, Hlgh School Music Instructor with the aid of Mr Schn ider, who arranged for our first Job playing for the Lion' Clib Xmas Party, Mr Duda 1 still helping the orche tra in rehearsal, but while playing they are on their own, Donations were received from the different classes and organizations in school to purchase the drums and stands for the present and future orchestra of Minonk High School.
