English As A Second Language English as a Second Language is a special group of refugees, exchange students, and others who must adjust to living in a completely different culture from what they are accustomed to. As you can imagine, it requires a lot of time and patience, and that’s why people like Nancy Ward, district E.S.L. chairperson, are needed. Some know a little bit of english, but for others, it’s like starting from ground zero,’’ she said, but they are quick learners and are eager and serious about their studies. L to R: Theavy Mam, Chau Letrink, Erik Paulsen. Siyeth Chy, Mrs. Ward, Sokchenda Mo. What? Another picture?! Siyeth, working hard. I can't understand a word she's saying.
