fall fashions A La Mode Breaking fashion trends — Tonka has its own style this year! Guess, Esprit, Calvin Klein, Girbaud, For-enza, and Polo can still be found, but in no particular color or style. The style depends on the person. Punk, mod, preppie, or sloppy, it’s everywhere. Many long skirts covering high boots can be seen strutting down the main hall along with ripped jeans and a t-shirt covered with a dirty old jacket. Tonka has a style that deserves a double-take, everyone’s unique qualities are shown in the individual styles. There is no right or wrong way to dress. “Whatever fits you best,” is Tonka’s motto- as long as you’re comfortable. A good pair of big sweats and an old sweatshirt is a favorite Friday outfit for everyone. Our fashion is based on style — not fad, Tonka’s on its own! Page 14. First Day of School The sun rises slowly over the trees and shines in their room. They turn their head and try to go back to sleep. As the radio alarm goes off, they stumble out of bed. As they turn on the shower, they realize that this will be the way their day will start for the next nine months.
