Leaves, pumpkins, and school, all signs of the fall season. Fall brings Minnetonka students back to school. New friendships start and old ones are renewed. With these trends, many Tonka students unmask. There are lots of ways for Tonkans to relax themselves in fall, like bowling, raking leaves, carving pumpkins, or (ugh) studying. Yes; with the return to school we also must endure the return of school work. Somehow we find a way to survive. Various Minnetonka students were asked how they knew it was fall. Here are some of their answers; What? They asked me that last year! The leaves change colors, and fall down. I don't know!! Give me time I'll get back to you. Top: Julie Brower and Liza Lindquist express their joy because fall has finally arrived, and their friendship can flourish once more. Middle left: Julie Sccor looks forward to the Halloween tradition of carving pumpkins. Middle right: Allison Stoltz, takes a much needed break in the leaves she has just raked. Bottom left: These girls have all just bowled a score over 236! Bottom middle: Meridith Manning; Eddie Van Halen watch out! Bottom right: Kirk Marshall practices a fall tradition of doing homework.

Have you ever been on a date and it is just not what you expected it to be like? Sure, there are some real common things that can happen. For example, your gossipy mother insisting to meet him her, and while you are getting ready and grabbing for your coat, she proceeds to tell them about the time when you were two and persisted to stick peas up your nose, or your dog Spot frantically lets your date know that they are welcome by pouncing all over them. The dog either rips her nylons or it ruins his new white cords. But has anything really weird ever happened to you? Have you and your date ever had a communication gap? One in which you thought one thing and they thought the exact opposite. Most students, sometime during their four years at Minnetonka High School, will experience a really weird or embarassing date, and will probably remember it for the rest of their lives. They will be the kind of stories they can share with their grandchildren when they are over for Sunday dinner. But the question is, when exactly will this date occur? ? Upper left: Rachel Oppcgaard wishes Cary Frame could find a more noble mode of transporation, and he wishes she was a classier dresser. Upper right: After a date with Jim Shanesy, you too will say, Who was that masked man? Middle: Chris Royse shows Laura Bishop the careful technique of duck hunting. Lower middle: Beth Birkholtz could have sworn that Jeremy Rosen-stcin said they were going to the country club, not Country Club Lanes! t 7 t 7 • • 12 T ?

Dear Sam; My trip around the world was great. We started in France where we travelled around the countryside and partied. Our next stop was Spain where we saw these two gorgeous bicyclists and some kind of tour group. We then traversed the Atlantic Ocean to Mexico where we went and tanned our bodies. Soon after, we scooted to Florida to visit Granny ananan ou vitrwTer (you )swinginefrie swung by Mr. Reagan's city to see the sites and to invite ourselves over for dinner. NO GOI Oh well, life goes on, but the trip didn't. Before I knew it we were home again! Love, Molly and Polly The H El J4
