Performances to Encourage Learning. Mr. Raymond Mmkler starts the choir again at 73.' Choir Director Mr. Raymond Mmkler would like to see increased opportunities for performance It would help student enthusiasm. said Mr. Minkler. The choir and chorus doesn't have quite enough money in the budget, which could cause difficulty with buses, music, and various activities. There's more happening in the band room these days, with two bands this year — Varsity Band, which is composed mainly of sophomores, and whose main purpose is to march and play at the games: and Concert Band, which mainly plays at concerts, but does play at some games. And then there's the Jazz Ensemble. which has many new members this year. The Varsity and Concert Bands have planned a spring trip to Winnipeg. Canada, which will involve a considerable amount of fund-raising. 25

Freedom Aids in Creativity Art classes are changing this year — the whole art program is in quarter scheduling .. students can choose their individual art program Mr. Muyres’ceramics classes are making their own potters wheels, kilns, glazes. and clays ... That looks simple I thought planes flew Don't let the lumbermen fool you!” These are some familiar sounds in Mr. Gary Goodwin's Consumer Woodworking class. In spite of a few problems such as girls frequently close to tears. Mr. Goodwin's despairing face, and general confusion, the new liberated shop class is doing well. Mr. Goodwin shows K. Anderson that cutting a board can be as easy as stitching on a sewing machine. 26
