Sno-Day Slips Past Tonkans Sno-Day may have provided little variation from dai- ly routine at MHS, but the pepfest was one which Ton- kans will long remember. Changing places with the Skipperettes, the Cheerettes showed graceful form in their dance to The Stripper. Meanwhile, in their temporary roles as Cheerleaders, the Skipperleaders made several attempts at cheering. Additional per- ormances by A-squad and C-Buf preceded the coro- nation of Bruce Dreblow and Mary Anderson as Sno- King and Queen. Victories over Kennedy in both basketball and wres- tling preceded the annual Sno-Day dance. King Bruce and Queen Mary show their emotions after coronation. Their attendants were Dave Ferguson, Kay Howard, Jan Empey, Blake Dirks, Mary Adams, Dave Barnes, Nancy Novaria and Kevin Flavin. The Cheerleaders get a big kick out of being Skipperettes.

l Dear Virginia, Yes, there really was a Christmas at Minnetonka. The first signs appeared at the Christmas dance. Since Mr. Claus' best suit was at the cleaners, he sent Rudolph in his place. Santa's supervision was sorely missed as his elves couldn't manage to keep enough punch on hand. Other signs of Christmas appeared throughout the week before vacation. Those who attended the band and choir concert perhaps felt it when the entire audi- ence stood up to sing llSilent Night. Mrs. Skoy's po- dium helped brighten the Friday before vacation. Sounds of pounding could be heard from the science wing where students were busy crushing ice for home- made ice cream. Wandering musicians and carolers brought the day and the parties to a cheerful end. 50 Virginia, Christmas really was merry at Tonka. Sincerely, Rudolph, Dasher, Donner, Blitzen, Vixen, Comet, Cup- id, Dancer, and Prancer Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night. Kathy Weller, 12, insists that raw cake batter is the only way to cele- brate Christmas. Senior Mark Kroll, finding the pre-holiday season too much, builds himself a fort and hides out in room 224 until Christmas. 0 a .
