Welcome to the 1983-84 Viking Ventures! This year we’ve added the following Senior Parent Patrons. A special thank you goes out to these parents who have contributed to this yearbook. Also, thank you to our advertisers listed on pages 88-92. He worked hard to produce an enjoyable book for you. Hopefully we succeeded in creating a true-to-life picture of Minneota High School. — 1983-84 Annual Staff Lambert Alice Abraham Rodney Hanard Marlene Lien Jon Mr. Mrs. Thomas Bretschneider Todd Frank Marie Moorse Dan Mr. Mrs. Walt Bulander Tom Mr. Mrs. Leo Moorse Steve Mr. Mrs. Dale Buysse Jeff Mr. Mrs. Richard Moorse Tom Clarence Barbara Buysse John Darren Sharon Muhl Wendy Mr. Mrs. Robert Driemeyer Dick Ray Adeline Pesek Paula Jim Glenda Fink Yvette Mr. Mrs. Joseph Rabaey John Mark Mary Ann Full Terry Ed Carol Roles Renae Mr. Mrs. Charles F. Though we don’t know where we’re going. We will cherish where we've been. I want to cry. I want to shout ... Want to let this feeling out. Hold on to the moment. Let the feelings show. Hold on to the moment. Never let it go. I can picture us together With my arms around my friends. Just let me hold on to this moment. Before it ends. There was laughter. There were tears. Through the dozen golden years. On November 11. the Veteran’s Day program was held. We had several speeches from the Student Coun- cil and Boy and Girl Staters. For Christmas. Santa Claus came to give presents to the high school and candy to the elementary students. In January. Snoball was celebrated. We tried many different ideas this year. One is giving a scholarship to Project 120. The Student Council hopes everyone had a good year and wishes the best of luck to the Class of '84 NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY AND STATERS Members of the 1984 National Honor Society include: Row 1: Barb Hennen. After a disappointing, slow start, we turned things around and played good volleyball. We proceeded to win eleven games in a row and the Southern Sioux Conference Championship for the second year in a row. I truly enjoyed coaching the team because of the super players I worked with. The Volleyball team would like to thank the MHS fans for the outstanding support that was given during our games. Coach Smith A Squad: Yvette Fink-Mgr., Julie DeCock. Sue Swedzinski. Rita Bot. Six seniors leave the basketball program this year knowing they were a part of a team that won more games than any Viking squad has won since 1975. Minneota had a 5 game winning streak built on teamwork and patience in February but was ousted from tournament play by a very quick Ivanhoe team. Six juniors return next year hopeful they can improve on this year’s record through continuing teamwork and improved defense. It’s been a tough year for Paper Staff. With all of the activities, time just flew by. There just didn’t seem like enough time to do all the papers we would have liked to do. We would like to thank Mr. Pagel for his generous help in putting the paper together. The 83-84 Paper Staff 61 The Annual Staff was small this year, but with the efforts of some people we put together a great annual. We tried new ideas to add to the annual, like including the 6th grade down to kindergarten, because they are also a part of our school. I really enjoyed working on the Annual, and I hope people will appreciate all the work that goes into publishing an annual. Editor. BARB HENNEN PHOTO STAFF Lisa Schwartz. Advisor Herb Pagel.
