“fi 01 LIKE The Student Council worked its hardest during the 1976- 1977 season to fulfill the requests of the student body. One of these requests was to have a Student Government Day in which the students took on the responsibilities of the teacher in the classroom. The offices of Superinten- dent and Principal were also represented by students. Other suggestions were brought to the attention of the Council including the possibility of hanging a curtain in the lounge to separate the weight machine from the lounge area. A new Viking head was painted on a wall in the lounge, and the possibility of having a foosball table put in for the student's enjoyment was also con- sidered. Let it snow ! Let it snow ! Let it snow ! And snow it did! On the morning of January 28, 1977, school was called off. Students patiently waited and wondered if snowball festivities would be canceled. Luckily, the weather improved by mid- afternoon and the word was full speed ahead! Despite the hindrance, many fans showed up for the exciting game between the Tyler 'Danes and the Min- eota 'Vikings. There were smiling faces as we came away with a big win. During half time, everyone anxiously awaited the crowning of the new sno-ball royalty. The crowd cheered and applauded when Kathy Engels and Dennis Stoks, were honored as the Queen and King for 1977. Immediately following the victory, everyone got down to the tunes of the Outer Limits.
