SPOON NITER ANTHOLOGY On November 8, 1976, Minneota High proudly presented its All School Play, Spoon River An- thology, directed by Ms. Linda Berger with the assistance of Student Director Carolyn Rabaey, Musical Director Mrs. Diane Wisniewski, Direc- tor of Set Construction Mr. James Bowen and Stage Manager Sue Janssen. The play was a col- lection of stories told by the characters about the joys and disappointments of small town life. The student cast portrayed as many as ten different characters. The cast included: Sharon Appelwick, Doug Josephson, Jyl Josephson, Scott Josephson, Kris Kimpelien, Wayne Kompelien, Gary Meyer, Janet Pesek, and Tim Tomasek; Lois Bot, pianist; and Colleen Heggeseth, guitarist. The 1976 Volleyball season got off to a good start with the Vik- ings defeating Lake Benton in the first game of the season. As a whole, the season was a victorious one, with a regular season record of 12-2. After defeating Tracy and Cottonwood, Minneota advanced to the district championship round that was played at Ruthton. The Vikings faced Russell for the district crown in hopes of obtaining the title again this year, but the tough Bulldogs put an end to their dream, by defeating them in two out of three games. BOTTOM: B -squad Volleyball members included: ROW 1: Janet Hennen, Rosemary Neisus, Nancy Koch, Rhonda Hennen, Robin Boe, Kelly Baugher, and Trudy Wigness. ROW 2: Nadine Obe, Paula Mikkelson, Sandy Wambeke, Delores Breyfogle, Barb Bottleberghe, and Beth DeCock.
