Add a Taylor representative to help and meet with periodically. Move the lab to room 102 over the summer. Start the school year unpacking boxes and getting organized. Plan a fund raiser for Homecoming; do not make over seven dollars. Assign staffers section of the book, but give the editor full responsibility for the results of the book. Mix 15 staffers with 5 hours of after school layout once a month. Sift in the typewriter, word processor, and telephone to be used only for business. To frazzle the editor, mix her with the 15 first year staffers at layout in room 102 for 3 hours. Confuse the staffers: send them to the editor for help while the advisor is out getting supper. After layout, send the staffers home and have the editor come in on MEA weekend, Twins parade day and Christmas vacation. Add the frazzled editor to 5 advanced staff members, and don't allow them to think. Add 600 pictures and three pages of indexing to be done, then lose the head photographer and indexer to other schools. Ask H. Larson Studios to take and print extra photos on short notice. Write a two-sentence caption for each photo; do not refer to the camera or photographer in the caption. Put all current deadline pages on the counter. Draw the layout, lable photos, and add folio art to the pages. Use “grace under pressure generously, proscrastination sparingly. Relax when the final deadline is met and the last proofs sent to the publisher. Wait three months for delivery to the school; sort the books, and deliver them on Honors Day.
