Under the direction of Mr. Gordon Olson, choir director, the Madrigals performed on December 5 for the public and December 7 for the faculty, staff and board. Many hours, which included a dress rehearsal, were spent preparing for the event. The costumes for the Madrigals were rented and the others were owned by the school. Mimes, small instrumental ensembles, and rose sellers traveled from table to table, along with beggars who collected money for the workers’ dinner. The Madrigals sang several songs; among the most difficult was Masters in This Hall because they had to sing while walking up to the platform. Four Senior boys put on a modified version of Little Red Riding Hood. Former choir director Mr. Harry Opel and wife Bonnie were king and queen of the dinner. The dinner, served by the Freshman-Sophomore girls treble choir and student volunteers, was prepared by the school cooks on December 5 and Dale Westberg and John Johnson on December 7. H.
