Left: At the end. of the Homecoming program, Aaron Peter (11), junior class president, thanks Mr. Jon Larson for directing the play. It was Aaron's job to coordinate the program. Below left: Mark Edstrom (12) attempts to complete his analysis while single-handedly running the bookstore. Each NHS member ran the bookstore for twenty minutes a week. Larson Studios Government, NHS Give Leadership Student leadership was provided by student body officers and National Honor Society members. Mike Widdifield (12), student body president, and Noel Thompson (12). vice president, headed student government. To help make freshmen feel more welcome, students kicked off the year with a senior-freshmen mixer. After a football game the Seniors and Freshmen played games at Minnehaha Falls and South Campus and ate pizza. On October 28th Senior Day Away found the seniors at Silver Lake Camp to here Mr. Brent Bomstrupt. par- ticipate in skits, play softball or volleyball and get to know each other better. Winter activities included Snow Daze, a broomball tournament, and junior senior Sadie Hawkins. NHS members assisted fellow students through a tutoring program and staffed the school bookstore. They also assisted as ushers and guides for some school programs. New NHS members were selected in the spring based on qualities of scholastic ability, service, character and leadership.
