Cause Student Growth Student activities created some facets of the school diamond. Students expanded their abilities by making decisions, working behind the scenes, stretching their faith, performing for their friends and sharing their deepest concerns and delights. Participating in activities made life hectic said Shana Brooks (10). However, it gave Shannon Becker (12) good, practical experience in dealing with a wide variety of people and Tara Schneider (9) a sense of responsibility. Larson Studios Homecoming Games Fire Fans Saturday’s Homecoming began early for sports fans with the volleyball team taking on Minneapolis Lutheran. The girls had a tough battle but won sets 2, 3 and 5, taking the match 3-2. Later that morning the boys’ varsity soccer lost 0 to 1 to St. Thomas Academy. Noon brought back promise as the girls’ varsity soccer team kicked off against Derham Hall. The game proved to be a close one at 2-1 with Mandy Seitz (11) and Debbie Bun-dgaard (12) scoring goals. The varsity football team enjoyed a good turnout of excited fans in the afternoon game, which shaped up to be a fairly easy win against St. Anthony. Chris Jensen (12) ran 103 yards on 14 carries and scored on a 13-yard run. In the third quarter, Greg Fernholz (10) scored another touchdown on a 3-yard run. Mike Dodge (12) sewed the game up by scoring a touchdown on a recovery of a blocked punt. Jay Mahler (10) said, “We executed well and showed the Huskies what hard hitting football is ail about.
