Like Madame Jonannessen says, On mange bien en France et en 307. The French Club membership grew from past years, more than likely because of the good food. It seems as if the French language student activities always involve food. In the fall the French Club ran the concession stand during sports events. They took a special trip to L'Hotel de France for breakfast. March third was French day and Mardi Gras. French students beat the German students in the language soccer tournament. Ce qui est bon, est francais! (Whatever is good is French). 22

This year a new language club joined the ranks in our international soccer tournament. The Swedes proved their expertise by defeating not only the Spaniards and the French, but also the consistently strong Germans. December 12 marked the Santa Lucia celebration at school. Honored with the Lucia crown this year was Lisa Skoglund. Her attendants were Beth Wilson, Ann johnson, Darlyce Jones, and Jean Johnson. Activities were always exciting ranging from Lucia to the movie Heaven Can Wait . Several of the students are planning a trip to Sweden in the summer of 1981, guided by Fru Frank. 21

Hola Amigos! Spanish club has changed from past years because of the new leadership of Mrs. Coronado. She has given the club several new ideas. On Christmas, the Spanish students went caroling in homes of Spanish speaking families. They broke the traditional pTnatas. The students wrote letters to sick people in hospitals. The class helped out the Cuban refugees with clothing, food and taking the time to talk with them because they mostly speak Spanish. In March they had a Spanish program. ADIOS-HASTA LA VISTA. 21
