This year’s Junior Class continued a tradition of last minute details as they prepared for I978’s Homecoming program. As practice progressed, the cast eventually stopped using the script because of the numerous changes in it. The dress rehearsal Thursday night went surprisingly well, yet even on program day, Mary Schwab and Mr. Hepburn were seen putting final touches on the sets. Father Time, Roger Christensen, led us on a journey through the decades. Eric Hawkins stepped out of roll in a 19IO’s skit, surprising Kari Eitreim by making a fake kiss into a real one. The 20’s brought us the Charleston and an introduction to the Blues, followed by the 1930’s, where the audience was given a very descriptive view of the Waltons. President Dewey was elected in the 40’s and the 50’s brought a dance in the Malt Shop. In the 60’s, the audience found itself in space, taking a short trip to conehead land”. Mr. Hepburn and his Homecoming Band were a popular attraction. The show was a big success and brought in record crowds, which pleased hard-working co-chairmen, Mary Schwab and Lois Hepburn. Bottom Left: John Boy (David Swenson) narrates an average afternoon. Bottom right: Gabriel (Nancy Hauck) plays the blues with two friends (Dan Larson, Craig Patterson) (Seniors from the Concert Band) 15

What God Hath Promised God hath not promised Skies always blue, Flower-strewn pathways All our lives through; God hath not promised Sun without rain, Joy without sorrow. Peace without pain. But God hath promised Strength for the day, Rest for the labor. Light for the way, Grace for trails, Help from above, Unfailing sympathy, Undying love. 17
