In the past year, the Student Council has exercised more authority than in previous years, sponsoring student supervision of study halls, and originating the administration of 7:45's to students disobeying rules and regulations, but maintaining a “squawk court for those who feel that they have been unfairly accused. Just and efficient, the Student Council is an important factor in school life. Pag© Twenty-seven Football, Basketball, Softball, and Tennis games supervised by the Athletic Committee were highly successful. They also sponsored ping pong matches and the volleyball games as noon entortainmont. The Publications Committee is composed of representatives from the Antler and the Quiver Staffs. They represent these groups in tho Student Government Program. The Social Committee managed a most successful Minnehaha Mixer, providing fun and entertainment as well as helping tho students to become better acquainted. The Christmas party, too, was sponsored by this group. A new committee was added to the list this year This was the Music Committee which has had charge of all the musical events and programs we have enjoyed The Forensic Committee has been a busy committee this year They have arranged for the many debates and speech activities the Debate Club has participated in this year. The football team attained more victories than ever before in our school's history. Much of this success has been attributed to our fine coach, Luther Gronseth. His leadership, both in athletics and in Christian standards, had much influence over the boys. Our basketball team, coached by another able man, Lester Hoven from Augsburg College, was also quite successful, meeting some of the strongest teams in the Minneapolis conference. Mr. Hoven not only coached basketball, but took charge of the baseball team's training as well, and brought them through in good style. They appeared very favorably in the games which were played, but the season was cut short because of semester examinations. The members of the teams thank the athletic department for supplying us with equipment, and backing us up in every way possible. We also are grateful for the support given by the student body at the games, with their enthusiastic cheering. i Page Thirty-two 1. Yes. Mr. President. 6. Just half there 2.
