John O ' Shaughnessy CLASS OF 1986 Dear Mrs. King, Hi! Well, it ' s June now and this will be my last note to you as class secretary. It ' s hard to believe that four years of Minnechaug has already flown by. Why, just yesterday it was freshman year and John was president (of course), Jenn Buchholz vice president, Hillary Broderick class secretary, and Dave Hartin, treasurer. Everyone was running around trying to find us an advisor and you came to our aid. Sophomore year rolled around with Kim Maloney as vice-president, and Noel Rihm as secretary. This was the year of chocolate bunnies and Minnechaug caps. And class rings. And of course I reme mber Junior year! Mark Macero was elected vice-president and I was elected secretary. As did everyone else, I welcomed the idea of planning activities and fundraisers — and worry about money!! (Ha ha!) It truly has been hard work — but it was all worth while. We even managed to have some fun. I remember sewing pennant after pennant just to go out and stand in the cold to sell them, (fun?) Our many thanks to Mr. Matroni and his Graphic arts classes for printing the pennants. We truly appreciated it! And remember all the M M ' s Tony gave us for helping with the Magazine Drive? And all the Sugar Daddies you hid? And I remember missing lunch to hand out prizes and fill out the posters — and getting robbed!! Whatever happened to Glen putting a pie in John ' s face if we beat his class at the Magazine Drive? I remember John, Joel, and I trying to find the place to buy soda for our MORP Video Dance. Once we got there, we kept switching the order. We kept carrying cases back and forth to John ' s car. We went all over the place looking for brick wall-paper and stole Burger King crowns! And remember Mike Chambers and Kim Walker were elected as MORP King and queen? And how could I forget our booth at the Town Fair. We stood there in the rain for hours and let people throw wet, dirty, sponges at our faces. Poor John — he really got nailed! (Fun?!) And don ' t forget those soggy jelly beans. And Senior year. I ' ll never forget senior year. Kim was vice president again and Craig Corrigan became treasurer. We finally organized our committees. I remember our last minute planning of the senior Kick-off — and we still had an awesome time. Remember we all signed that poster? Jim Metzger thanks you for your artistic services throughout our four years. And I remember planning all our senior activities — a hayride, a class trip, sledding, senior pranks (shh!) picking the band for the Prom, caps and gowns, gradu- ation, announcements, senior banquet and breakfast. Wow! Were we busy! But we could never have done it without you. You were not only our advisor, but also our friend, We enjoyed your company and thank you, as a class, from the bottom of our hearts. You ' ll never know how much you ' ve been appreciated. Mrs. King — we ' ll always remember you. Love always, Sarah (Class Secretary, ' 86) Mrs. King Craig Carrigan Sarah Withington
