flrjLBRXHAM PUBLIU uw i 1967 M % M I Bi FALCON | MINNECHAUG REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL WILBRAHAM, MASS. The body of the school Is warmed by many spirits. . . By the spirit of an inspired teacher, Who leads his students towards the glow Of their own minds. . . By the personalities of the seniors; Soon to spark off from their class To Individualism. . . By the spirits of underclassmen, Who assert themselves upon the school With their own flames of identity. The school, in turn, May ignite in the students A spark of beauty -- A flash of genius- - A glow of worth. . . A blaze of loyalty for the team, Which burns brightly in victory And is fanned, not extinguished, By the winds of defeat. . . The body of the school Is warmed by many spirits And it grows in beauty and significance If these spirits live. . . 4 _ J) m I 5jS- «k J ' •; DEDICATION 6 FACULTY 8 SENIORS 26 UNDERCLASSMEN 68 ACTIVITIES 90 SPORTS 122 ADS 170 EDITOR-IN-CHIEF: Nancy Baker ASSISTANT EDITOR: Pamela Scott-Smith FACULTY EDITOR: Mary Power SENIOR EDITOR: Leslie Pauly UNDERCLASSMEN EDITOR; Gail Kendall ACTIVITIES EDITOR: Christine Couture GIRLS ' SPORTS EDITOR: Mary Jane Colton BOYS ' SPORTS EDITOR: Edward Moran ADS EDITOR: Pamela Trombley SUBSCRIPTIONS EDITOR: Gail Melanson PHOTOGRAPHY EDITOR: Patricia Lempart ART EDITOR: Laura Neff MR. JERRY BADGER Mr. Badger reflects his spirit through his activities as a teacher, coach and advisor to our class of ' 67. He has worked with us for four years and watched us mature from freshmen to seniors. He has led our class wisely and helped us sponsor many successful events. We would like to show our thanks by dedicating this yearbook to him. In the classroom. Assistant Coach to the Swim Team. Both Mr. and Mrs. Badger helped make our proms a success . KENNETH JOHNSON, Asst. Superintendent FRANCIS REDDINGTON, Superintendent THOMAS BERNARD, Asst. to Superintendent To the Class of 1967: It is my pleasure to congratulate you on the completion of your high school education. The possession of a diploma from Minnechaug Regional High School should be a source of deep satisfaction to you as it is to your parents, your teachers and the citizens of the community. Your achievements and successes demonstrate your seriousness of purpose, effort and enthusiasm in striving for high standard of excellence. May you continue to employ these same qualities in pursuing your life goals and in meeting the challenges of the future. Francis P. Reddington Superintendent LINCOLN DEXTER, Principal RICHARD TRENHOLM, Asst. Principal Greetings to the Class of 1967: The four years you have spent at Minnechaug were marked by notable changes. Expanded enroll- ment, 680 to 973, was matched by wider curriculum choices, enlarged faculty and a 25 room addition. Even the leadership of the district changed as you began your senior year. In spite of the exciting and somewhat distractive influences of these years you have compiled a sound record, spiced by enthusiasm and practical determination which we hope will be projected successfully into the future in all your worthwhile undertakings. J s SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Edward Moran - President Susan Searles - Secretary Trant Campbell - Vice-President Timothy LedDuke - Treasurer Mr. Badger - Class Advisor The last four years have seen a great change and maturing in the class of ' 67. As freshmen you were a collection of separate individuals going your own way. With your shared experiences, work, and problems you have grown into a closely knit group working as one. You have put your whole selves into ev- ery project the class has undertaken, and as a result your successes have been numerous. As students and athletes you have at all times endeavored to do your very best--no one could expect more. Continue to face the future with the same courage, purpose, and love of life that you have shown in the last four years at Minnechaug and I know the coming years will be rich and rewarding for all of you. Best wishes upon your graduation. Jerry A. Badger Advisor, Class of ' 67 DONALD ADAMCZYK Yeah, right! Melanson The Student Council is an important organization here. Its purpose is to as- sist in the management of the school and improve school morale. However, its most important function is to serve as a link between the administration and the student body. The council serves as a forum for student expression and runs snack. Each class has six voting members and two alternates. Officers include a treasurer, a secretary, a vice-president and a president. The council meets each Wednesday in the lecture hall to discuss student suggestions and improve- ment for our school. M O N O R Article 317, Section 8 of the Student Handbook says . . . Each spring the current Student Hostesses choose girls from the junior class to be the new hostesses for the next year. These girls are chosen on the basis of poise, pleasant appearance and school spirit. The most important contributions of the Student Hostesses are ushering at gradua- tion and sponsoring the Get Acquainted Dance annually. They also usher at dramatic and musical events, serve as guides for the eighth grade orientation and the annual open house, and help lost freshmen and new students. These girls make an invaluable contribution to the life here at Minnechaug. FIRST ROW: Miss Weatherby, advisor; L. Fidgeon, S. Bartley, H. Frost, V. Whitcomb, C. O ' Hara, G. Melanson, J. King, M. ROMANOFF Somewhere in a tiny postage stamp country on one of its 400 Independence days, two lovers met and fell in love. They had hardly been alone two seconds when they met their problem, vendors dealing in black market supplies of comic books. Meanwhile back at the Soviet Embassy all was not going well. Romanoff ' s mail order bride had arrived and his family spy had overheard him ' ._. ; m i - ■m iM l 1 A i; ■E v ... ' ■1:. - fc ■? W AND JULIET talking to Juliet. Luckily for the two lovers the 10-hour president of the co untry stepped in to help them. However this was the least of their problems, for Romanoff was the son of the Russian Ambassador and Juliet the daughter of the American Ambassador. Besides, Juliet ' s fiance had arrived and her father wanted her to marry him. The president of the country arranged for the couple to be married by the deaf arch-bishop during an historic ceremony. Even the two fiances fell in love. So, everyone lived happily ever after. HELE MAKAI May 13, 1967 What ' s this? Girls in long dresses and French curls and guys in baggy pants?
