COSMETOLOGY AND BARBERING The Barbering Department accepts post graduates for nine months of training. After this period of lime, students are ready to take the State Board Barbers Examination which enables them to work in a barber shop as an apprentice for 15 months. Upon completion of this apprenticeship, they take another test to receive a Journeyman's license. The Cosmetology course requires 1500 hours of training including all phases of hair care and various types of beauty treatments.
