 jccts as radio:-, toasters, watches, autos, footwear and other necessary articles. Vocational furnishes the city's citizens with rooms for public meetings. It also is a voting center for two precincts. Because of part-time work and co-op schedules, employers are enabled to look over end select desired personnel for full time employment upon graduation. These people welcome Vocational graduates because they are willing to work, are trained, and prepared to contribute their skills and knowledge to answer the needs of the community. Students and graduates from numerous trades answer community needs as cooks in hotels, technical craftsmen in defense plants, mechanics for airlines and super stations, clerks in stores, assistant nurses in hospitals, office workers, secretaries, commercial artists, and in many other capacities. Students entering the armed forces are better able to benefit their country because of their specialized training for definite technical |obs. Vocational's services are felt and used in many places. The printing department produces all of the printed matter, such as report cards, passes, forms, and commencement programs, that is issued through the school board. A widely distributed catalogue is busy advertising Vocational throughout the Upper Midwest and has gone to such places as Cuba and Chile. The school paper, The Craftsman, has submitted both information and photographic art to large newspapers such as the Minneapolis Star. Our year book, The Tradewind, is sent overseas to be studied and enjoyed by peoples of many countries. The community we serve, an ever widening territory, may look to the Vocational High School and Technical Institute for students who with educated minds, skilled hands, and good citizenship, can meet its needs.
