Within four boxes were red roses and in one there was a white rose. The one who received the white rose also received the crown. She was Lark Leigh Gilmer Saturday morning awakened with the J.V. Cross Country meet, held for the elementary grades up to 8th grade, at Martin Luther King Park. The Juniors held a pancake breakfast for the Seniors and Alumni. That afternoon the Homocoming game against Mayer Lutheran was held at Breck F at 2:00. The Lancers lost 14-6. Following the Varsity game on Saturday, LHS Alumni. Faculty.Parents, Families, and students were invited to a Spaghetti dmner|sponsored by the Senior clas; The theme for Homecoming week was Reach for the Sky. Eachone has set for himself goal. The results of the week reminds us tokeep striving for that goal until we have grasped it firmly. We keep reaching and grasping and sometimes it feels as if it has slipped through our fingers, yet if we look to God for guidance when we reach out it will be there. God willing. With Field 24 homecoming 75 Scattered pictures like the corners of my mind. Smiles we gave to one another .... These all combine in my three years here, soon to be four. I've reached out and someone's always been there to grasp it. I reach for Jhe sky and I know God is guiding me. Walking down the path hearing my song, a friend by my side, through the flashes tf f pictures I see PM., .1 remember the way Mona sang our song. I looked up at Carl and I see all the good times-real fine times we all have had together. Sentimental? Up there we gave confidence to each other through smiles. It all seemed like a dream, not in slow motion like most, but fast As we opened our boxes and moved the tissue paper aside, what can I say, there it was. the white rose which represented peace, unity, and love. I was a bit unsteady and I'm sure glad you were there. Then the tears came. I use to have to make myself cry when I was little but they came down all by themselves. It was hard to see. My white gloves were white no longer. My water-proof mascara did not holdup very well. I heard gasps and smiles and applause tor me. Now it's my turn to applaud for you. You make Lutheran Hiqh what it means and what it stands for. You have given me the crown and the white rose which represents this- I hope that I will be able to live this. Thank you here seems so feeble but that's II I know how to say. May God bless you, may His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you peace. The Christian community at MLHS is made up of those people. Being chosen Sno-DazeKing indicated to me that my love just might be a two-way street after all. The title carries fast-fleeting glory but the memory will linger, reminding me of both the laughter and tears of the past four years, and how thankful I am for those who shared them with me; may they always be-my friends. 30 A C T I V I T I E S Student Council: from left Soph., Roberta Ulrich, Andy Langewisch, Junior .
