MUSIC DEPARTMENT HAS FULL SCHEDULE The band has been very active during the 1955-56 year by participating at rodeos, fairs, and football games in the first part of the year. They also took part in the annual Christmas program. Much time and work was spent on their numbers for the District Contest. The band also traveled to Smith Center for the league Band Clinic. There are approximately 60 members in the big band of which 20 will graduate in May. The band and their director, J. H. Moore are to be congratulated on their fine performance during this past year. A Pep Band was organized to play at the basketball games and at pep assemblies. The Swing Band, known as the Tophatters,,' gave a well-received assembly program in January. November 14, the Mixed Chorus went to Beloit to participate in the annual League Vocal Clinic. They presented two numbers and then sang with the mass chorus in the evening. Presenting One Codw at the Kay-Kayette Conference was another accom- plishment of the Mixed Chorus, as well as presenting the cantata, Yuletide Mem- ories, at the Christmas Program. Also assisting in the cantata were the Girls, and Boys' Clee Clubs and ensembles. Numerous vocal groups participated in the Music Contest held in the spring.
