L. Freeman, Sec: S. Morton, Pres: C. Weidler, V.Presg M. Killian, Treas. CLASS HI 'l'0RY In the fall of 1948 there came wandering into the halls of M.H, S, a group of green freshmen to start their career as underclassmen with Mr. Dave Wooster and Miss Alice Boyce as sponsors and Larry Horner, as president. The sophomore year we all came back, still underclassmen, but looking not so green and a little less be- wildered than we had the year before. Dave Comfort was the big shot for the sophomore class. The highlight of the year was the class picnic at the State Lake, from which we all recovered. Mr. Roy Carlson and Miss jean Seifert helped us through the year, Our Junior year found us actively engaged in money-making ideas for the banquet. Two paper drives were sponsored with everyone pitching in to help. Under the direction of Miss Kathryn Smith, the juniors gave the play, We Shook the Family Tree. With the theme Over the Rainbow, we presented a beautiful and enjoy- able junior-senior banquet and prom. President Sheila Morton and the sponsors, Miss Kathryn Smidr, Miss Jane Rogers, and Mr. Roy Carlson guides us through a profitable year. And now, with eighteen members of the original kindergarten class left, we have finished the last lap of our journey. Mr. Carlson. Miss Rogers, and Miss Eileen Heinen helped make this last year an enjoyable one. The time is growing shorter till we march down the aisle and receive our diplomas, and we are wishing we could start the journey again. Kirkland, J. ice, L. Luther. In Student Council, the student body is represented by a President and a Vice-President. The four classes are represented by two representatives from each. Kays, Kayettes, Pep Club, FHA, and FFA each have one representative. The council is organized to create and maintain high stand- ards of scholarship and citizenship, to represent the student body and to promote social activities. Monte Jackson, a very able vice-president, takes the chair in the absence of Dee Biesterfeld, President. 'The records are kept in order by Jean Hahn, Secretary, and the finances are kept by Darlene Postlerhwaite, Treasurer. The work of the Student Coun- cil would not be as successful if it were not for Mr. Boucher, the sponsor. 'Q vss'8...,-e-'c s al- sr ks' it 'ir D
