CLASS PROPHECY THE MINIER NEWS MAY 25, 1974 Pat Schmidgall, a noted author, returned recently from S we d e n where she received the Nobel Prize for her best seller, 'Gone with the Breeze. Bill Imig, former major league baseball star, now a successful coach, is visiting his parents in Minier. Two of the best policewomen in the state, Dorothy and Harriet Gordon, will lecture on safe -driving at the December Meeting of the P. T. A. Bob Freitag, a successful cattle- rancher from Wyoming, is home after showing his prize Angus cattle in Chicago. Prof. Lois Diegel, Head of the Department of Horticulture at the University of Georgia Tech., has won world-wide acclaim as a plant breeder. She expects to develop a peanut tree within the ne xt few years. It has just been reported, Pat Malinowskiis flying to Germany to marry a handsome Air Force cap- tain, whose n a me has not be e n learned. Richard Schmidgall, well known business executive from New York, hasjust completed the biggest busi- ness deal in history. It is believed to be in the zillion dollars. Jerry Myers, campaigning for State Senator, made a short speech during his thirty-minute plane stop in Minier. The famous archeo1ogist,Jim Pawson, is still hunting for bones. On Thursday he discovered six more bones of the huge mammal near Armington. He believes he will have the entire skeleton in six months and plans on ezdiibiting it then. Bill Mueller and his wife, the former Barbara Drinnon, and their triplets flew home from Alaska in their private plane. They are own- ers of one of the largest uranium mines in the world. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Hastings, the former Donna Gemberling, along with their four lovely chil- dren are visiting her mother in Minier. After a distinguished term of practicing law, Deane Haning has been appointed president of Harvard University. He willbe the youngest president in its' history. Betty Kurth is home from New York for a visit of two weeks. She is a famous star of stage and screen where she takes the part of a spin- ster. Popular bandleader, Ronald Cruse, known as The King of Jazz , will play at Minier's Policeman's Ball on December 10. Gene Nafziger, aworld's famous chemical inventor, has just com- pleted a process for treating tobacco whereby nearly all the poisonous nicotine is removed. His motto will be: 99.9987654132 per cent pure. Editor's note: We always knew the class of 1954 was an exceptionally talented one.

The Junior Class was kept busy this year in their effort to make enough money to present the seniors with such a nice banquet and prom. Some of their money making activities were: The Junior Play, ' To Blush Unseen , sponsoring a show at the Minier Theater, concessions at the Mackinaw game, and a bake sale. The Juniors ordered their class rings and got them during the last part of November.
