lgaskefball Minico's great basketball team gained wide-spread fame this season. The SPARTANS started the 1960 season by defeating Nampa and Boise. Play- ing 20 games during the season, the SPARTANS won 16. They were defeated once in conference play by Burley with the score 45-40. But the SPARTANS had their revenge in the next game with Burley, defeating them by 24 points. The MINICO SPARTANS again won the Class AAA Conference Cham- pionship trophy. Keith Wilson, j.V. Coachg Glen Maughn, Varsity Coachg Bill Matthews. MANAGERS: Danny MqNeff Don Rehn Varsity Coach. In District Tournament play the SPARTANS got off to a fast start by defeating Burley 67 to 46. They then rolled past Filer and Buhl. The Championship game was between Minico and Buhl with the SPARTANS defeating the Indians 58 to 32. As a result the MINICO SPARTANS are the District Champs not only in conference play but also in tourney la . P CONGRATULATIONS!!! To the best ball team and coach in the dis- trict. You have done a great job, and made Minico mighty proud of their SPARTAN basketball team.
