I Published By The Senior Class Of MINERVA HIGH SCHOOL SAYONARA 1960 Editor-in-chief-Jimmy Allison Assistant Editor-Pat Forman IN MEMORY OF Macon Alexander Thomas Oft in the tranquil hour of night, When stars illume the sky, We gaze upon each orb of light, And wish that thou wert by. We think upon that happy time, That time so fondly loved, When last we heard the sweet bells chime, As thro' the fields we roved. 2 IN APPRECIATION Mr. Wendell Dean Nash We, the Senior Class of I960, wish to dedicate our yearbook to Mr. Wendell Nash and Mr. Shelby Mason for their encouragement, inspiration and leadership. Our sincerest appre- ciation for making our year a com- plete, successful, and enjoyable one. 4 Mr. Shelby R. Mason Mrs. A. Thomas 1 st Grade Mrs. V. In the future we see Ann Scott and Allen Porter married with many little chubby brats taking reducing pills. In three years Velma Tucker will be working in Hamilton, Ohio and making a living for her husband. In the future we see Jackie Griffith still chasing Moo the only boy who could ever change her standard of morals. As we look in on Jerr.v Jones we see him married to Brenda Hickle and a houseful of kids and a handful of bills. In the future we expect to see Norman Hinton still contented and happy just to be driving his tractor away from the house and three or four little trac- tors behind him. In a few years we find Barbara Gilbert married to Joe Slack and singing her children to sleep with Its Been A Blue, Blue Day. In a few years we will find Virginia Gill married to Jim Ruf with a lot of little chimneys to go with the roof. We find Billy Huddleston trying to explain what he was doing in Hamilton, Ohio to his girl from Orangeburg. In a few years we see Donald Hay chasing Augusta girls and asking Ann Jacobs for a date. In the future we expect to find Linda Lou Allison out in the yard every morn- ing and evening to continue flirting with bus drivers. Alma Darnell1 s quietness will probably take her far except with the boys; thus she will be an old maid. 16 In the future we see Pat Forman riding in her dearly loved convertible dressed in furs after her Hollywood singing debut. We see Gordon Moran still pumping gas and pumpingCharlotte and Patty Sue for a date. In the future Wendell Pollitt still drag racing with Larry and still carrying a car load of girls. We see Jerry Arthur as a welder in West Virginia. In the future Paul Jones will probably become the best crap shooter at F ernleaf.
