orewon j We, the class of 1959, have tried to include in our year book a record of everyone connected with our school. Our theme is centered around records that have made the Golden Record list and which depict the nature of each section. We hope with the help of Allen's drawing you may see the esteem, as well as the humor, in each one. When many years have passed, you may look back upon Today, which will then be Yesterday, and recall the days of work and pleasure you spent as a student here. If this Golden Record shall serve to preserve such memories for you, then our purpose will have been accomplished. The Editor Hubert Hume Superintendent Helen Wallingford Personnel Director (fdoard oj Education William Scruggs Instruction Supervisor Walter Worthington Minerva Ivan Mason Mayslick Robert Coryell Rectorville Duke Clary Sardis [ 2 ] Robert Claybrook Washington DEAN MARTIN We, the class of 1959, wish to dedicate our annual to Mrs. Anna E. CLASS PROPHECIES OF '59 In the future, we look in on Ronnie Walch and find him playing his guitar, with a bottle of beer in one hand and singing, Old Gray Mare Ain't What She Use To Be. Three years from now, we look in on Ann Emmons and find her shoveling snow off the walk so her husband Ronnie Walch can go to work without getting his feet wet. A few years from now, we look in on Audrey Teegarden happily married to a lucky Augusta boy. We look in on Margaret Marshall after her high school work and find her happily married to Robert Lang with a nice cozy family of six. In later years we look in on Alpha Lucas and Hobert Gilbert happily married and running after all the little Gilberts. In ten years, we look in on Phyllis Sims as Mrs. Gene Hickman and find several little Hick- Ups running about. [ 14 ] Ten years from now, we look in the home of Mr. -Mrs. Allen Porter, where Allen is adding moth balls to his gas tank for more speed and Ann caring for the nine chubby Porter’s. In future years, we see Charlotte Wells and lirnie getting married, while Joe Hallaran is crying his eyes out. We find Junior Crawford in the Dover pool room with a cue stick in one hand and cigarette ashes in his mustache. Li the future, we see Harold Newsom Goose getting in his Ford trying to get away from his nagging wife, Janice Ashcraft, and his ten blonde Geese . In a few years, we see Harry Body Gibbs married to Peggy Lang with three little Body Boos playing basketball on Mr. Applegate's Professional team. Within the next ten years, we'll see Bveda Fraley going to a modeling school in Hollywood to please Jack Condon. We look in the future and see, Jewell Schmidt hopping a ride with her beloved, Jimmy Arthur. We look in on joe Halleran ten years from now and find him pushing his old Ford to the grocery store after food for his six black headed boys. Two Years from now, we look in on Brenda Harney and find her happily married to Pat Barry with a lot of little freckled faced Barrys running around. In the future we see Joe Slack married to the Collector of Rings , Barbara Gilbert, and each little Slack wearing a different School's class ring. In the future, we will find Helen Hinton as Mrs. Benny Kidder, and a lot of little Kidders. Jean Fraley will be well on her way to Texas after school to become Mrs. Steve Cooper. We'll probably find Johnny Carpenter, two years from now, down on his knees begging Martha, or Jackie, to marry him. In the not too distant future, we see Albert Poe has traded his Mercury for a cow in order to feed Jacobs and the little Poes. In the future, we find Mary Darnell scrubbing up footprints made by her husband Albert Poe after she just got through working. We look ahead of us in the future and find Peggy Lang as Mrs. Harry Gibbs, nursing twins. In about two years, we see Wanda Scheek engaged to Roy Bell nervously wailing for the church bells to ring. In the future years, Jo Ann Adams, we presume, will be a poet from the looks of her Lnglish book. In two years, we find Patsy Rigdon trying to decide whether she loves Butch Stevens or Johnny Carpenter. In the future years we find Joan Wenz going to college at Covington, looking for a sweetheart which must be tall, handsome and rich.
