As I turn the pages of Minerva's life history, I find that it has always been in a class of its own. No doubt, we didn't realize, as the frustrated years have passed, that we are making more history to be recorded for '48. We are now bidding farewell to our M. H. S. students, and as we think of the sad time, when we shall leave, there nat- urally comes to us remembrances of the last year that we have spent, and upon a happy four years, we glance backward. It was a bright, sunny September morn in '44 when 16 little green Freshmen, nervously found their way into their rooms. ----- TIITEHS7 we hadknown of the numerous battles ahead to be won. Our Sophomore year was spent in earnest study. We were then mo ed with the other M. H. S. students, and with the new students from Germantown, which boosted our attendance. Our Junior year was a very happy- one, as we were no longer 'Ii'El'E'Insignificants ---- for we held a position to which came the student body for a council member, cheer- leaders, an outstanding speech student, and other assistance. The highlight of the year was our Junior and Senior Banquet, and under the guidance of Mrs. Kitson, we feel that we had just about the best banquet in the history of the school. We also gave a class play, performed by 12 members of the class, but we felt we became so rich from proceeds of the first performance, we refused to repeat lt. ------ Many plea- sant days' passed in May and we were no longer Juniors. ---- ----P. S. Rings were ordered and received in February. CLASS HISTORY fcontinuedl 5
