xg! 4 FMMM -fs I am Destiny. Yes, I am inevitable.I know what you dream now and what you will always dream. Your fate lies in my hands. I am traveling a long road, but my path is light. I pause, rest, and my eyes grow heavy and lo, in my dream- ing I see an island, the only one of its kind in the universe. I see people. It is the year 1968 A. D. and the peoplel see are ones Ihave followed throughthe yearsbecause of their parti- cular talents and special abilities. These people moved to this island from a place called Minerva, which is in another world. From the highest hill of the island Ican see many things. The island is large, but by moving about one can see what great successes these people have made of their lives. Look- ing about, I see Goze's Opera House. Seated ata piano, play- ing to a vast audience is Miss Gloria Eads, who not long ago was married to Professor R. Johnson. She looks serenely happy. On the out skirts of a small village is a very prosperous farm. But, then no wonder, with the training the owner had while in high school, how could it be anything else? The farmer is painting the garage. Moving closer I see it is .Toe Bill Dwyer. He has great wealth. He is soon to embark upon a great journey to the other world: to China. On a high hill is a large, white hospital. Its name is Eisenhower Memorial Hospital. Dr. Yelton Mullikin, M. D. is staff superintendent. He is performing a serious operation, but he is a noted sur- geon and is successful. Another valuable member of the per- sonnel of the hospital is Barbara Hughes who is working with Dr. Mullikin. She is administrator of the anaesthetic. She is happy with her work. In alarge, office building located in the city of More stown, is an up-and coming stenographer, by name, Virginia High- lander. She is a very happy person, and believes that life has been good to her. A secretary for a large banking firm in the same city is Marian Fegan. Her employer contends that she is one of the best, and her ability for using short- hand is uncanny. Walking down the street, I see a huge build- ing and a sign in front reads, DAILY GAZETT. Something whizzes past me. Why, it is REPORTER NORMA BOONE going to cover a robbery of Mrs. I. VanDines jewels. Re- porter Boone is quite successful and has helped solve many case s. I KCONTINUEDD When we returned to school in the fall of '47, we bore upon our brows the classic symbol of attainment ----- Seniors. Our fourth and crowning year of Success!!! How G?e'S'TwTa feel! Hpw GREAT we feel!! fDon't laugh, ---- Why, our dignity was even contagious. But, as the days passed, several mem- bers dropped along the wayside, leaving only 16 to graduate, being the same number with which we started when we were green Freshmen. My, what a busy day we're having! It seems as though a million things take place, for this year is filled with thrilling experiences, such as---A few days of hookey, a trip to a football game at Georgetown, tour to Lexington, having pictures taken, ordering cards and invitations fwhat a mix-up!!j, caps and gowns, pep meetings, plannings, plan- ning for class night, commencement, baccalaureate and Sr. trip. But most of all, we look forward to the Maroon and Gold folders---The contents of which puts the climax to all our M. H. S. efforts, Only a few more months of school and Minerva will close her doors of learning forever upon us, as a student, but will not fade from our memories. ------------ H-- The four years we have spent, have been happy and pro- fitable, and we wish to extend our deepest appreciation to the faculty for the many things they have done for us, and for overlooking the many things that school kids do, to torment their best friend, the teacher. Proceeding further, I see many happy homes, with fam- ilies both large and small. Phyllis Orme is sending the child- ren to school. She knows that an education is essential. Jose- phine Beckett is debating on whether to have dinner at home or go to BOB'S Restaurant with her hsuband Ray. At the University of Morestown we see an efficient Home Economics Inst. She is none other than our own Martha Beck- ett. Her students are specializing in cooking. Theyconsider her quite a teacher. I look into a large radio station and who do we find as the Chief Engineer ?---No one but Scotty Bierley, who had turn- ed out to be an excellent engineer with credit going to Minerva. As I pass throughout the station I hear the morning Devotional program directed by Miss Patty Poe, who is soon to leave for India. She is one of the world's greatest rnissionaries. Asl go on with myjourneyl enter ahuge courtroomwhere the great lawyer, Donald Hilderbrandt, is conducting acase which is of interest to everyone in the nation. He certainly has made a name for himself, and has won many cases up to this time. ' CRACRAFT'S FASHION HOUSE is the center of my atten- tion as I slowly walk along. Going in, I find manybeautiful clothes being modeled by Mrs. Cracraft, the former Doris Miller. Doris has quite a farnily nowg three small girlsg Pat, Maryn, and Bet named after for mer classmates. They surely love their father, Pete. I hear there is a new governor to come to live in the mansion house on the island. It is none other than Everett Mullikin, who always was quite apolitician in his school days. ---Luck to you Everett. HENDERSON'S HORSE FARM is located on the outskirts of More stown. It is quite a place of interest to the surround- ing people of the country. Mrs. Henderson, who was before her marriage, Betty Branam, sings to the horses each eve- ning. She is very happy as are all the people that came from Minerva way back in 1948. Yes, I am Destiny! I have shown you what has happened in the past twentyyears. Maybe I will visit them again some day.
