5Q.fa lDlElDllCATllON Edgar Lewis fN0vember 5, 1882 - June 6, l954l On june 6th, 1954, Edgar Lewis, one of Minersville's most colorful public figures died, and a forty-five year career of fearless public service was ended. Mr. Lewis had served his community as police officer, Chief of Police, and Chief Burgess during five consecutive terms. He had been active in many phases of community life, and his name was synonymous with law and order. His un- flagging interest in his town manifested itself in many ways: in his enthusiasm for community athletics, in his constant attention to traffic problems for which he received for Minersville a coveted Safety Award, in his concern for the school children of Minersville whom he served as attendance officer for thirty-five years. Because of his dauntless courage, his record of life-long service, and his unselfish devotion to his community, we proudly dedicate this volume of the ELEUSINIA to the memory of Mr. Edgar Lewis.

IN MlEMOlRllAM 'Wk Wwwnf Frances C. Bosack Uanuary 12, 1937 - October 27, 1952, We devote this page el the Eleusinia to the memory of our classmate, Frances, who died in her sophomore year. Frances was born in Minersville and attended St. Stanislaus Parochial School. She later went to Branch Town- ship High and thereafter to Minersville High. We remember her as a girl who enjoyed both work and play. She was a commercial student who particularly liked typingg her outside interests included high school sports, dancing, and her church. Her sudden death both shocked and saddened her friends and class- mates. ' ' l GXJ4 l L
