a. Virgle Ralph Swanson b. First edition of Mineral Wells High School Burro, c. Progress of the Burro through the years. DEDICATION With this book we honor a man whose life exemplifies a genuine concern for the people in the Mineral Wells area. This concern is shown by his collecting of the Mineral Wells High School Burro for 68 consecutive years, from 1910-1978. Born south of Mineral Wells, January 28, 1907, he attended grade school and high school in Mineral Wells and graduated in 1926. He worked at J.S. Murphy Construction Company after graduation and was in that kind of work until his retirement. He married an ex-classmate Etta Mae Shands on July 28, 1828. They lived in the Sturdivant Community for almost 50 years, or until his death on February 24, 1978. It is with great pleasure that the 1979 Burro Staff dedicates this book to Virgle Ralph Swanson. ► • 12
