. 0- ' U ff DAVID MATLOCK An Excellent Example A name often seen on the honor roll and mentioned during conversation in which the most accomplished academic students are discussed, David is an excellent example for yotmger students to follow. Because of his sincerity and dependability, David is well thought of by student and teacher alike. A true leader, David is President of the Key Club, of the Campus Book Club, of the National Honor Society, and of his homeroom. I-Iis scholarship is of such caliber that he was last year Chief junior Marshal, and this year was inducted into the National Honor Society. With all his schoolwork and extra-curricular activities, he also finds time to hold a part-time job at a local theatre as usher and to take part in our school's intramural sports program. Who's BECKY LINDSAY Her smile speaks a universal language. Charm is the most precious of gifts a- girl can possess. For it is pricelessg it cannot be bought. It is only attained through a selfless interest in the World outside oneself. Touching deeply all it is near, this rarest of gifts makes us feel a special glow. Certainly Becky Lindsay is one among few who radiate this charm. How many of us, in the warmth of her smile or in the merriment of her laughter, have felt this special glow? As a member of the Anchor Club and as a leader in the Youth for Christ Club, her services have proved to be invaluable. In tribute, her fellow members of the Y. F.C. this year elected her their Christmas Queen. Becky was again honored this winter by being on the winter Homecoming Court. Because she represents the ideal girl, the LARENIM staff this year chose her as Miss LARENIM.

Who CALVIN LAWSON Another Big Third Up in the air, Calvin! screamed the fans during a bas- ketball game and, sure enough, the lofty star retrieved the jump ball. This action became one of the familiar scenes around Mineral Springs this year as the Bulldogs romped through many victories, sparked by the high scoring of Calvin Lawson. In many ways, the 6'5 Tri- Captain has sparked his team, not only with his above- avera g e height, but also with his deft shooting and rebound ability. An athlete in every respect, Calvin has certainly boosted school spirit. FRED LEWIS C1umsy Fred Lewis is a boy who is active in everything. He has prove d his leadership ability in both class activities and in extra-curricular activities. As Vice-President of the Senior Class, Fred has devoted his services toward making our last year at Mineral Springs a suc- cessful one. He is also President of the College Club, Chaplain of the Key Club, and Vice-President of the National Honor Society. Because of his commendable academic record, Fred was last year chosen to serve as a junior Marshal. Being quite talented, Fred excels in dramatics, singing, playing of the piano and guitar, and dancing. As one of the main characters in last year's junior-Senior Play, Fred was one of the actors whose performances helped to make the play a success. At times, his well-known dignity is unmasked, for this boy has a knack for making people think he'll crash into them bodily. But just as soon as one thinks there will be a collision, Fred regains his poise and strolls down the hall to the bewilderment of his would-be victim. Because of his versatility, Fred is a deserving selection for Who's Who.

Who ED PINSON The Shy One jump up and shout, screamed the twisting Twist fan down at the Carolina Theatre one night. This is just one of the many sayings quoted from our laughter-spreading boy, Ed Pinson. For many students can tell you that Ed is the boy who has an answer for any question. I-le is the only boy ever heard of who can explain why snow will melt on one side of a telephone pole and not melt on the other side. Yes, he's the one who has everyone fooled, for Ed is not so shy as most people think. This boy really becomes himself when around the gang. However, Ed is not always clowning. There are many things in which he shows serious interest. A member of the football team for four years, he has contributed much with his hustling energy. JIM Ricci Rico Known around Mineral Springs as Rico, seen Twisting the Night Away at sock hops, and being a favorite on the football team, is jim Ricci. Although he's little, jim is very muscular and sturdy. A Tri- Captain of the football team, he helped the Bulldogs fight for victory at his position as guard. jim has led our class as President while we were Sophomores, and as class Vice -President in our junior year when first we became upper classmen. Liked by all his classmates, jim is often thought of as the boy with the accent. A Rhode Islander until he came to Mineral Springs, he adapted to our way of life from the very beginning. To see his winning smile and to hear his friendly greeting for all is a privilege. For jim could be referred to as one of the friendliest boys at Mineral Springs.
