Class Prophecy The train just pulled into the Grand Central Sta- tion in Mineral. We Georgia Richardson and Glenda Newell are happy to be back in town. We just got back from Reno, where I, Georgia am the happy' partner of a casino and Glenda is a designer at Macy's. It's good business because there is a lot of money' in Reno. Glenda and I are returning be- cause we receixed an imitation to the homecoming This year s ey ent is supposed to be great As Glenda and I walk along to call a taxi much to our surprise Norman turns up Since Stes enson won the recent Presidential election he changed his mind from being a farmer to being a taxi drner Norman took us to Minerals new Statler hotel where we find Ettamae Lauer and her husband are the managers We are also happy to hear Etta s little daughter is the Homecoming Queen this year Also staying in the hotel is none other than Patsy and Ronald Helms Patsy being the former Pat Par sons I guess they quit arguing long enough to get married Glenda and I decided wed like lunch in our room so we rang for the bell boy He turned out to be no one else than jerrol Zwhalen He likes his yob because so many good looking girls stay at the hotel and jerrol always did like to be around girls He told us about a lot of our former students friends We are much surprised to hear that Nexa Smith is now a partner in a big horse ranch about three miles north of town We decided to go see her She told us Mineral today from her Haxana plantation She had married Daiey Smith We nes er did think there was any loye life between those two Dayey had become a rich man when he discoxcrcd a new metal They and their children were flying down for the home coming XY'e left Nexa and decided to yisit the old school Upon arming we found Roger Bennett now the principal of M R H S He always wanted to be the principal because he thought Mr Broadhurst didn t do things just right XVe also found Ardis lox teaching Home Fc in high school She was always 1 good seamstress She and Rogcr were going together We always thought she and Roger had 1 crush on each other As we were leaving, Art Hallam drove by in a new Cadillac. We learned he was now the manufac- turer of a new cigarette Hallo , Art was always bumming cigarettes. We also learned that john Racy was now retired. He had made his name famous as a pilot in the last war We always knew he would be famous John was now living in Mineral aboxe john Blair s barbershop He got rt cheap because jim Parsons owned it the one ey ery one thought was so cute in High School had bought a chain of barbershops all oyer the United States He himself always wanted to look nice We heard Alex Brassart now owned the Brick Yard at Weir Thats his mam subyect now He al ways thought about one thing at a time Only in school it was Athletics I wonder why he nexer thought about girls We learned something we neyer dreamed would happen Merle Velia was now the replacement for Clark Gable He always told people hed surprise them While walking down the street we saw a man walking toward us with a cane It was no other than Paul Bond now a Ph D in physics at Harvard Uni yersity He was trying to find out how to make bet ter atoms He told us he d just left Raymond Wester always thought he d be a cowboy Mary Ann Oplotnik we learned wouldnt be able to attend the homecoming this year She was a laboratory technician for B H Goodrich in Detroit and a very important matter came up We learned Shirley Gunther was a teacher in Ar thur Murray s dancing school in Los Angeles She was at home yisiting and decided to stty for the homecoming Glendl and I were yery hippy to sec all our friends again I ' ' ' . jim, ' , . . 1 . , , . .
