BILLY TALT- Much of Billy's time at Mineola was dedicated to the sports program. He played baseball annually and was a member of both the basket- ball and football teams. His other inter- ests included going to concerts and the beach, lifting weights, and listening to the music of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. His favorite classes were Eng- lish and metal shop, while Mr. Miller and Mr. Smith were his most inspiring teachers. After graduation. Billy hopes to become a police officer. MOST MUSICAL- Bettyann Falcone and Brian Gus- tafson MIKE TANGREDI- Various interests oc- cupied Mike, our Senior Boy with the Best Student Body, in his free time. Among them were biking, beach and concert going, weight lifting, and play- ing roller hockey. As far as the school day was concerned, he listed Mr. Na- politano and Mr. Miller as his favorite teachers, and he found metal shop and cooking to be his most worthwhile classes. At this time. Mike has no defi- nite plans for the future. LORI TODD- As a sophomore. Lori par- ticipated on the soccer team. Aca- demically. she listed Mrs. Migdol and Mr. Shepherd as her favorite teachers, while she found English and social stud- ies to be her most rewarding courses. After classes, she held a job at a roller rink, and she enjoyed skating and going to the beach. She also spent time lis- tening to the music of Genesis and Lio- nel Richie. Attendance at college awaits Lori after high school. PATRICK TOPF- Pat's most valuable course at MHS was metal shop taught by his favorite teacher. Mr. Miller. He applied the knowledge which he gained there to a part-time job at an auto body repair shop. In his free time, he en- joyed driving, movie going, and repair- ing cars. He was also involved in the BOCES aviation program. In the future. Pat plans to go to work in a frame shop and specialize in welding. 110

MAUREEN SULLIVAN- Prior to Maur- een's entrance into MHS in her sopho- more year, she belonged to the volley- ball and softball teams at her previous school. When she wasn't working at her part-time job. she spent her free hours beach going, biking, and playing tennis. Her most memorable high school experience proved to be meet- ing a wide variety of people at MHS. Scholastically, her most rewarding classes were biology and social studies, while she listed Mr. Johnson and Ms. P'Simer as her favorite teachers. Maureen’s future goals include attend- ing college to prepare for a career in the medical field. CATHERINE SWAIN- Cathy, a thought- ful and sensitive member of our class, became actively involved in numerous aspects of MHS life. A three year par- ticipant in Rockettes. she cited winning the Kickline Championships as a soph- omore to be one of her most memora- ble high school experiences. Her trip to Jamaica with the AGP class also pro- vided her with many cherished memo- ries. The badminton team. Spanish Club. Question Mark, and student gov- ernment were other organizations in which she took part. Academically, she listed Mrs. Lynch and Mr. Johnson as her most inspiring teachers. Outside of school, such interests as jogging, ski- ing. and beach going occupied her time. After high school. Cathy hopes to pursue a major in business. ELIZABETH SWAIN- Beth, a talented Rockette and verbal elected leader, was actively involved in many aspects of life at MHS throughout her high school years. Band and dancing, mem- bership in National Honor Society, teams or noteworthy Girls' Week par- ticipation were just a few of her contri- butions. She was also a four year mem- ber of the badminton team and Class Secretary as a sophomore and junior. This year, she took on the additional responsibility of being Activities Editor of Signet '85 which she carried out in thoughtful, wordy, interesting, note- worthy style. Of her many high school experiences, going to Jamaica and Florida and winning the Rockette Championships in sophomore year proved to be her most memorable. Academically, she was a junior induc- tee into the National Honor Society, and she found biology with Mrs. Lynch to be her most beneficial course. Trav- eling;. skiing, and swimming were some pastimes which occupied her spare time. Attendance at college awaits Beth in the years to come. PATRICIA SULLIVAN- Before coming to MHS as a sophomore. Patty was a member of the volleyball, softball, and basketball teams at her formal school. In her after school hours, she also en- joyed skiing, swimming, and listening to the music of The Police and Michael Jackson. As far as the school day was concerned, she found her trigonom- etry and biology classes to be her most interesting, and she named Mr. John- son and Mr. Tomic as the teachers she liked the best. After graduation. Patty plans to go to college and major in ma- rine science. DANIEL SWIECKI- While at Mineola. Dan took part in the Work Experience Program through which he obtained a part-time job. During the school day, he found math and English to be his most enjoyable classes, and he listed Mr. Castellano and Ms. P'Simer as his most influential teachers. Outside of school, such pastimes as playing padd- leball, watching TV. and listening to music occupied his free time. Dan's plans for the future are undecided as of yet. 109

DONNA TROTH- Donna’s interest in sports led to her membership on the JV basketball and varsity softball teams. In fact, she cited winning the Long Island Softball Championship as her most cherished high school mem- ory Besides athletics, beach going, dancing, and listening to the music of The Jacksons and Billy Idol occupied much of her spare time. Scholastically. Ms. Hampton and Miss Fisher were her most influential teachers, while English and shorthand proved to be her most valuable classes. Attending business school and pursuing a career as a sec- retary are included in Donna’s future plans. ROBERT TURON- Rob gave a great deal of his free time to participation in the Hejnal Polish-American Dancers of Long Island, and he also served as their secretary. Fishing, swimming, and lis- tening to the music of Led Zeppelin and Zebra occupied many of his remaining spare hours. Mr. Napolitano and Mr. Tomic were the teachers he liked the best, and biology was his favorite class of the school day. Mrs. Purohit's chem- istry class was listed as his most memorable high school experience. At- tending college to major in math or computer science is included in Rob's plans for the fall. COLLEEN VAZ- Her two year involve- ment in FBLA and participation in the Work Experience Program proved to be valuable experiences for Colleen while she was at MHS. Scholastically, she found business classes to be the most worthwhile and listed Mr. Napoli- tano and Mr. Shepherd as her most interesting teachers. When not in school or at her part-time job. she en- joyed dancing, horseback riding, and listening to the music of Lionel Richie. After graduation. Colleen hopes to con- tinue her education. JOHN VALENTE- Beach going, break- dancing. and listening to music were only a few of the ways in which John occupied his free time. He also played baseball for the Mineola Athletic Asso- ciation. As far as the school day was concerned. Mr, Shepherd. Mr. Napoli- tano. and Ms. P'Simer were his favorite teachers, and biology was the class he looked forward to the most. The Ju- nior-Senior Prom proved to be his most memorable high school event. After high school. John plans to enroll m college and major in marketing or constructional engineering. DALIT TUBERO- Dalit, our Best Looking Senior Girl, was an enthusiastic mem- ber of the Class of '85. She participat- ed on Rockettes for four years and be- came actively involved in Girls' Week, serving as Captain of Entrance annual- ly. Not surprisingly, her most memora- ble experience was capturing first place in Girls' Week as a sophomore. Academically, her favorite classes proved to be English and art. and her most inspiring teachers were Mrs. Mig- dol and Mr. Storch. She also held a job at a clothing store and was a member of the Teen Fashion Board at a major department store. Attendance at col- lege to major in fashion merchandising awaits Dalit after graduation.
