High School Administration In selecting DETERMINATION as the theme of Signet this year, I am reminded of the mission of Don Quixote as popularized in “The Man of LaMancha : To dream the impossible dream, To fight the unbeatable foe, To bear with unbearable sorrow. To run where the brave dare not go. And the world will be better for this, That one man, scorned and covered with scars, Still strove, with his last ounce of courage, To reach the unreachable stars! The combination of vision and an ideal along with the determination to carry it out produces greatness. At the beginning of your careers, it is important that you identify some quest. If it is worthy, and you have the courage and drive to pursue it, the world may truly be better for this. I hope that your years at Mineola High School have helped you to focus on the ideals and the possible dream that will give you a life filled with happiness and personal satisfaction. MR.
