The Class of '80 has also proven its deter- mination and spirit through such class activi- ties as the selling of refreshments at the SO Variety Show, bake sales, and a car wash. Judy Santopetro-Secretary 44 Fran Catalanotto-Treasurer Seniors Mike Canavan, President The Class of '77 has been involved in many activities throughout its four years in MHS. These experiences as well as creating innumerable memories have helped us grow in many ways. Each of these serves as a stepping stone to our future endeavors. I would like to wish you success in all aspects of your life. Mike Canavan Ann McCarey. Vice-President Mr. Basiliere and Mrs. Mastellone, Advisors Amy Adler. Secretary 52 Carla Perrotta, Treasurer Valedictorian Life is a sequence of varied experiences, each and every one adding to the enrichment of our lives. Through these occur- rences, we sometimes make discoveries which enable us to further understand ourselves and the people and things around us. During the past four years, we all have made these discover- ies. We have come to know and accept ourselves as individuals and as members of an everchanging society. The things we learned in the past have shaped our views of life and aided us and will continue to aid us in making decisions about our future. Without this knowledge, we may find life to be a strug- gle, simply because we do not know who we are or where we are headed. When we look back on our high school years, we will remem- ber these things and realize the importance of our younger years. The people and the everyday happenings that we exper- ienced will become the foundations of our later years. The successes and failures that we shared in the past will make us stronger so that we can face the challenges of tomorrow. Toshiko Banno Salutatorian Discovery, a simple word with broad meaning, has a great significance in each and every one of our lives. Our high school years have had an important effect in finding our- selves as well as friends. The wants, needs, and endeavors of each of us, including our plans for the future, are discov- ered during these years. Parents, teachers, and especially peers, play a big role in the most important discoveries of a person's life. These discoveries, either of ourselves or of the environment around us, have an important place in our education. These are the things that stand out in our minds later on in life, even more than the things that are drilled into our heads by teachers. As time rapidly flies by, these discoveries become the key and the guiding light to our future. 54 John DaCosta BACK ROW: W. Lange. T. King. N. Werner. THIRD ROW: J. Kelly. L. Widom, A. Georges. Winter 239 Acknowledgements The compiling of this yearbook was an extensive and difficult task. Few people realize the tremendous amount of time and effort which was involved in its production. We would like to thank all those who made Signet '77 possible. We, the editors of Signet '77 are especially grateful to the person who was most vital to our staff-our dedicated advisor. Miss Jane Higgins whose guidance, patience, and devotion were largely responsible for the production of our book. We also express our appreciation to the following: Ms. Eliza Fisher, our business advisor. Mr. Chester Smiley, our representative from the American Yearbook Company. Mr. Dave Greenberg and Mr. Bob Biello of Greenberg Studios, the official yearbook photog- raphers. Our advertisers, patrons, boosters, and all those who have contributed in any way to Signet ’77.
