I just ot off from work and have a weeks vaca- tion, so I've decided I'll go Imome and visit all my classmates which I haven't seen for almost five years now. Since I was usually with Don- na the most, I'll go see her first. I think I'd better head for Bangor to the Olson farm. Donna and Mert now have a place of their own. As I got there I was greeted by little Terry and Theresa and as they show- ed me into the house I realized that twins sure do keep a person busy now days. Over a cup of coffee I found that Mary is working as a Practical Nurse in La Crosse and is planning a fall wedding to that Miller boy she has always had her eye on. Violet joined the Air Force and is stationed in Texas. I find that Sidney also joined the Air Force but is discharged and is operating his own helicopter service. Rusty and Wally are both in the trucking business. Wally is driv- ing a truck in Bangor for Newburgs I told her I should be on my way and asked her if she'd like to come to Mindoro and spend the evening and I'd drive her back later On the way to Mindoro I asked her what Richard and Russell were doing and how in the world could they ever be parted Donna told me that Russell was working as a mechanic and Richard was working as a bookkeeper in a beauty shop in La Crosse He's keeping as close to the irls as he possibly can without getting caught elores Horstman is a rural school teacher at Lower Dutch Creek and Doris is workin as a bookkeeper at the Auto Lite factory First we decide to go see Willis As we drive in he is Just com in from the barn You see he has taken over his father's farm W as ed him how everything was and he said Just fine I told him I was Just omg around checking up on my old school chums so he tells us that ill is working in an office in La Crosse We say 'Good bye' and we re off again We'll make Burr Oak our next stop As we pull up in front of the store Myrna comes out While talking I find out she has an office Job in La Crosse and is Just home for the week end I notice on the third finger of the left hand a flashy diamond I asked her when the big day was she looked STRAIGHT ahead and said June I found out from Myrna that Gwen was working in La Crosse as a dental hygenist and is now Mrs I-Iolte and living in Onalaska Back in Mindoro we decided to go to the school Just to look it over and see how many changes have been made Who do you suppose we found shooting baskets in the gym? None other than Dale who is the new coach here in Mindoro now While talking we are Joined by his wife who of course is Myra and Dale Jr You see they've already started their own basketball team Well Donna I guess we 've either visited or found out where all our classmates are and I only hope it 1sn't five years beforel see them all again And as for me Joann I wrote the class prophecy so nothing ever happened to me -x 'in I i .
